A.S. Watson Group has continued its expansion in China by opening its 3800th store in Kunming, Yunnan.
The new store, spanning 2000 square feet, has incorporated different retail technologies to enhance the customer experience by combining online and offline (O+O) platforms.
The store provides AR technology to offer different mix-and-match trendy combinations. A beauty consultation service is also available at the new store. Customers can enjoy this personalised service by connecting with store staff via Watsons China’s WeChat account. If a selected product is not available in a specific branch, Watsons staff will help customers place an order through the system, where they have the choice of different delivery methods.
Customers can also make an appointment for a skin test and spa experience through the membersâ€™ centre to enjoy a full range of private beauty and grooming services.

Including China, this year A.S. Watson Group isÂ planning to open 1300 new stores globally. That is, on average one new store every seven hours,” said Malina Ngai, CEO of A.S. Watson (Asia & Europe).
In China, the company has launched a scan-and-go service, enabling customers to save time by simply scanning a QR code with their mobile phones to purchase products directly through the Watsons mobile application without waiting at the cashier.
Watsons has also launched a VIP programme offering a wide range of exclusive privileges to the top 10% highest-spending customers in China. Privileges include complimentary make-up and skincare services, exclusive invitations to meet celebrity and KOLs, and accommodation and culinary offers at five-star hotels.
