IHH Healthcare, which looks after the division of Parkway Pantai, has appointed Saurabh Patel (pictured) as its head of marketing. Effective 16 September, he takes over the role from Alvin Neo, and oversees operations across all key markets including Singapore, Malaysia, India, Greater China and Hong Kong.
In a statement to Marketing, Patel said he is tasked to drive revenue, volume and market share growth for the Group, including the development and implementation of marketing, sales and digital strategies as well as new channels, markets and segments. He will also ensure performance excellence and continuous improvement for the sales and marketing function by cultivating key capabilities, competencies and innovation, as well as have functional oversight over key leadership and talent for marketing across all key markets.
Patel was most recently the APAC director for brand operations and activation at Johnson & Johnson (J&J), leading digital-first content delivery for the region. He brings with him near to 19 years of consumer experience with J&J, having handled various marketing, commercial and innovation assignments on iconic brands such as Johnson’s Baby, Band Aid and Clean & Clear. During his time there, Patel has assumed local, global and regional roles across India, USA and Singapore.
“Healthcare is going to see much more disruption through technology and increasing patient expectations. IHH, as one of the largest and fast expanding private healthcare services groups in the world is in a unique position to lead this change,” said Patel. Moving forward, he aims to drive more marketing and patient experience synergies across the group, and chart the future of healthcare and hospital marketing.
In August, Marketing confirmed that Neo has taken on the newly created role of chief customer and marketing officer at NTUC Enterprise and FairPrice. He was with Parkway Pantai for over six years.
