Media Prima outlines map for digital future

Media Prima Television Networks has announced a new initiative in taking digital to a new level with the introduction of Veedo.

Veedo, to be launched this December, is a website where brands may call pitches and users may compete by submitting original ideas for TVCs.

Media Prima will work closely with brands and creative agencies on real job briefs, allowing contestants to submit their storyboards through the Veedo website.

This new platform is open to everyone, from professionals to film students, and will be promoted through Media Prima’s multiple platforms including television, radio stations, and website portals.

The winner will see their ideas turn into a real TVC as well as stand a chance to win prizes.

When asked by A+M, Ahmad Izham Omar (pictured seated), chief operating officer of Media Prima, said there are already brands on board Veedo as more and more seek fresh ideas. “It is not a big revenue generator for us, as we are more interested in discovering new ideas and talents.”

The announcement was made at Media Prima’s annual screening event held last Friday (2 November), during which it was also revealed that all Media Prima TV will go live on Tonton in 2013, which currently has 2.5 million registered users.

Tonton will also offer high definition content consisting of a variety of programmes, from sports and drama to entertainment, for its users.

“We believe that with the right ideas, high-quality content and campaigns integrated across multiple platforms will have a bigger impact and reach to our audience. This in turn would appeal to our advertisers seeking different levels of media offerings within the group,” added Omar.
