Toys“R”Us has began its Christmas campaign to showcase toys and help underprivileged children with a series of activities and workshops.
Titled “Discover the Magic of Christmas”, the campaign will run until 1 January 2019 and features its Christmas toy catalogue, big discounts and a list of activities. More than 1,000 toys are showcased in the catelogue, including the toys tipped to be top sellers this year. The toy chain has released its annual festive top 20 toys for Christmas list and is inviting its loyalty Star Card members to vote for their favourite five toys.
The “Donate-A-Toy” campaign, organised in partnership with Christian Action, is running until 18 November and members of the public are invited to drop off pre-loved good quality toys at collection boxes in all stores. These toys will be given to underprivileged children. As a token of appreciation, everyone who donates a toy will receive a certificate and a $50 cash coupon from Toys“R”Us.
“Christmas is not just a time for receiving but also for giving. Toys“R”Us believes it is an ideal opportunity to give to children who are less fortunate in Hong Kong. We are confident our local customers will want to join in and support the (Donate-A-Toy) campaign. In addition, our stores have prepared an extensive list of top toys and great offers to give all our customers a magical Christmas,” said Jo Hall, CCO for Toys“R”Us Greater China and Southeast Asia.
“Love and Share” themed workshops are also being held until 18 November at Ocean Terminal’s G/F Atrium to help children understand the importance of love and sharing through interactive games. Schools can book in advance for the workshops from Monday to Friday, while the public can join in the 30-minute sessions on a first-come-first-served basis on Saturdays and Sundays.
Toys“R”Us is asking children to write down their toy wish and a reason for their choice on the “My Toy Wish” entry form available at Toys“R”Us stores or its website. The 10 most creative entries in the will be awarded a dream toy.
