Creative, data and technology agency Wunderman Thompson Singapore has appointed Ben Wightman as the head of data and analytics. Wightman will be reporting to CEO of Wunderman Thompson Singapore, Nimesh Desai.
In a statement to Marketing, Wunderman Thompson's spokesperson said this appointment comes as the agency looks to scale up its local data and analytics offering. Leading a team of seven, Wightman will be focusing on the integration across Wunderman Thompson’s customer experience, strategy and data, and analytics team to ensure smooth running of the agency's proprietory model, Collision.
The spokesperson added that Wightman will be replacing Thomas Brauch, who was previously head of data and analytics of Wunderman Thompson Asia Pacific. According to the spokesperson, Brauch helped to build the foundations of the data and analytics team in Singapore, and will now be focusing on scaling up teams across Asia Pacific.
Wightman brings with him 20 years of experience in driving integrated marketing communications results for brands in Asia, Europe, and the United States. Prior to this appointment, Wightman was head of data strategy APAC at the Dentsu Aegis Network, where he worked with Vikram Bansal, chief data officer of DAN APAC, to hone and evolve the agency’s data strategy, while offering support to ensure adequate data governance and driving more holistic data-led thinking across all agency brands.
According to his LinkedIn, Wightman also previously held the role of regional group director of strategy and planning in creative B2B agency gyro. This was after the merger with Band Inerprise, where Wightman held the role of channel marketing and sales enablement group director. He has also been in senior account servicing, strategy, data and technology roles including agency and client leadership positions.
Wightman said he is excited to join Wunderman Thompson in its data-driven, brand value building efforts. "Wunderman Thompson clients stand to benefit greatly as data and technology are integrated right alongside creative as drivers towards their customer-centric business KPIs," he added. Desai said that he is certain Wightman will play a crucial role in expanding the agency's data and analytics offering.
