VaynerMedia has appointed Anita Munro (pictured) as managing director for Asia Pacific, with the former WPP Media Thailand CEO set to take the helm in January 2027.

Munro will succeed Tim Lindley, who will step down at the end of 2026 after six years leading VaynerMedia in the region. Lindley will remain with the agency through December to support the leadership transition before moving on to his next venture in the new year.

At VaynerMedia, Munro will be tasked with driving the agency's next phase of growth across APAC, building on its expansion under Lindley.

Munro joins VaynerMedia with more than two decades of leadership experience across Asia Pacific, spanning client leadership, strategy, planning, investment and operations.

Most recently, she served as CEO of WPP Media Thailand, where she oversaw the business and worked with clients on their marketing strategies. Prior to that, Munro was chief investment officer for WPP Media in the region and chaired its APAC Investment Council. She has also held senior roles across the group, including as managing director of L’Atelier, WPP's bespoke luxury client hub.

Lindley joined VaynerMedia in 2020 as head of strategy before being promoted to managing director six months later. During his tenure, the agency expanded its regional footprint to eight offices across markets including Singapore, Australia, India and Japan. The agency also grew its client roster to include brands such as Grab, Cathay Pacific and SharkNinja.

"Earlier in the year, Lindley let me know he was excited about exploring new opportunities and challenges," said Gary Vaynerchuk, chairman and CEO of VaynerX and CEO of VaynerMedia.

"While heartbroken because I've loved our time together, I'm excited about the opportunity to continue building on the foundation we've established in the region with Munro's addition and look forward to continuing to bring our current and future partners into a modern marketing framework," he added.

Lindley said part of building something well was knowing when to hand it over.

"This team held to Vaynerchuk's vision to get the model right, even when easier paths were on the table, and I couldn't be prouder of what they've built. Working alongside them has been the most rewarding experience of my career. Under Munro, the best is still ahead," he added.

Marcus Krzastek, president international at VaynerMedia, said Lindley had played a significant role in shaping the agency's APAC business and culture over the past six years.

"It's a big seat to fill but I can't think of someone better than Munro to step into things. Her deep business and marketing acumen along with her attention to building best-in-class teams across the region will make for a fast fit with the team and our partners," said Krzastek.

Meanwhile, Munro said she was looking forward to building on the agency's existing momentum in the region.

"The clarity of the vision and model, the quality of the team and the strength of the culture have deeply impressed me. I'm looking forward to building on the momentum already established across the region and to taking this exciting next step in my own career," she said.

The leadership change follows another senior appointment within VaynerMedia's APAC business earlier this year. In July, VaynerMedia appointed Mark Turner as head of media for Asia Pacific, as the agency looked to strengthen its regional leadership amid growing demand for social-first strategies and AI-driven marketing.

Based in Singapore, Turner oversees the agency's regional media operations, including media execution, client partnerships and operational management. He also works across creative, strategy and analytics to scale insights-led omnichannel media strategies spanning digital performance channels and offline media.
