VaynerMedia Japan bolsters leadership with new senior hires

VaynerMedia Japan has expanded its senior leadership team to drive social-first growth, appointing Yousuke Ozawa (pictured second left) as executive creative director, Nahoko Yokota (pictured right) as strategy director and Chiori Suzuki (pictured left) as account director.

The appointments are effective immediately, bolstering VaynerMedia Japan’s fully integrated creative, media, and consulting offerings.

In Japan’s nuanced market, winning consumer attention requires deep local cultural insight and performance-driven social strategies. This new initiative aims to strengthen the agency’s core proposition: creating consumer-centric social content that drives scalable business results.

To drive these results, the VaynerMedia uses organic social as a real-time testing ground, letting algorithms and actual consumer behaviour validate creative assets. Brands’ media dollars are strictly put behind high-performing assets that are already proven to resonate in Japan, driving greater media efficiency overall.

The three new leaders bring rich industry experience to the team. Ozawa brings a disruptive and globally informed edge to storytelling and social-first creativity. With a robust 20-year career spanning top-tier agencies including Havas, Weber Shandwick, Ogilvy, and Dentsu, Yousuke has an extensive portfolio of high-profile work, having previously led creative for 40 major global and domestic brands including Coach.

Yokota, who boasts more than 14 years of experience at the Swatch Group, will lead strategy to turn social insights into measurable business growth for Japanese clients, while Suzuki will bring impactful digital entertainment and eCommerce expertise to the agency.

“Japan is an incredibly strong and dynamic market, and we are seeing a massive appetite from brands wanting to break away from traditional marketing to win attention where it actually lives. After five years operating in Japan, VaynerMedia is well-positioned with the expertise and knowledge for brands to succeed with a social-first strategy,” said Kota Murakami (pictured second right), country manager, VaynerMedia Japan.

“Yousuke, Nahoko and Chiori bring an incredible depth of expertise to our team. All three colleagues bring extensive experience in creating positive impacts for global brands, allowing them to push the boundaries of the status quo while respecting Japan’s specific consumer nuances. They will be monumental in scaling our capability for social-first marketing in Japan,” added Murakami.
