POP MART has collaborated with Hong Kong artist Kenny Wong to curate an exhibition that celebrates MOLLY, the designer toy character, on her 20th anniversary.

Running until 10 February at the Art Pavilion in West Kowloon Cultural District, "The little galaxy - MOLLY 20th anniversary exhibition” (一顆不變的星週年特展) launches in Hong Kong as the inaugural stop of its world tour, marking MOLLY’s first major retrospective in two decades.

Tracing the timeline from 2006 to 2026, the exhibition explores MOLLY’s creative origins and evolution into a global symbol of pop culture. Visitors are invited on an immersive journey through 20 years of imagination, artistry, and emotional storytelling—while also unveiling the next chapter in MOLLY’s future.

Created by Wong, the exhibition features five thematic zones, including: “2006-2009: Hi, MOLLY,” featuring MOLLY’s earliest sketches and debut works, and “2010-2015: The second round” (第二回合), which recreates Wong's studio. This zone displays a number of imaginative sketches, works-in-progress, and revisions, allowing visitors to experience firsthand the refinement and perseverance needed to transform an initial idea into a final creation.

In the “2016–2026: A wondrous adventure” (綺妙的冒險) section, the circular gallery transforms into a time-traveling corridor, featuring MOLLY’s iconic series from the past decade. At the far end stands SPACE MOLLY—a symbol of her boundless creative journey and evolution toward a more expansive future. Meanwhile, “The little galaxy” (不變的星) and “Scenery along the way” (沿途的風景) feature key original paintings and manuscripts by Wong from 2006 to the present, inviting visitors to step into MOLLY's world.

For the first time, the exhibition features MOLLY’s original character sketches, concept drawings, hand-painted artworks, iconic collectible figures, and the heartfelt stories behind her creation. Special events will include a Wong signing and the “MOLLY Star•Wish – charity painting activity.” Each weekend, this activity will take place for a limited time at the East Lawn of the Art Park, allowing visitors to add their own unique colours to MOLLY. Proceeds will be donated to support art education for children with special needs.

To share MOLLY's charm with an even wider audience, a six-metre-tall SPACE MOLLY sculpture will greet visitors at the East Lawn of the West Kowloon Cultural District—set against Hong Kong’s breathtaking skyline, creating a must-visit photo spot that celebrates imagination, art, and joy.

After its stop in Hong Kong, the exhibition will tour multiple cities worldwide, continuing to share the innocence, courage, and enduring companionship that MOLLY has brought to a generation of fans.

Created by Wong and owned by POP MART, MOLLY is inspired by the image of a child with bright blue eyes, a pouty mouth, and dressed in a painter's hat and robe. Holding a paintbrush, she symbolises a little painter.
