Foodpanda Malaysia's marketing director Steff Yong (pictured below) has stepped down from her role, marking yet another leadership change for the delivery platform’s local team.

Announcing her departure in a LinkedIn post, Yong described her tenure as “a wild and memorable” experience, expressing gratitude to her team and colleagues.

“I'm super grateful for the incredible teams I had the chance to work with — thank you for the trust, collaboration, and countless moments of support along the way,” she said, adding that she would miss the “energy, camaraderie, and the many great conversations” during her time at the company.

She also wished the team continued success, noting that she would be “cheering you on from the other side of the app.”

When A+M reached out, foodpanda Malaysia declined to comment on her departure. However, A+M understands that the company has yet to name a replacement, and the marketing director role is currently open.

The role, currently listed on LinkedIn, outlines responsibilities including scaling monthly active users, strengthening brand equity, and leading cross-functional collaboration across commercial, operations and regional teams.

Yong brought over 15 years of experience to the role of marketing director, overseeing foodpanda Malaysia’s end-to-end marketing strategy, including brand positioning, growth marketing and creative campaigns. Her remit focused on driving customer growth and strengthening the platform’s position across food delivery and quick commerce.

Prior to joining foodpanda, she held leadership roles across the tech, retail and FMCG sectors, including stints at L’Oréal as digital and eCommerce director, Meta as client solutions manager, and KFC Malaysia as head of eCommerce. She began her career in advertising at Ogilvy.

A+M has also reached out to Yong for further comment.

Her departure comes as foodpanda Malaysia recently named Kenneth Soh as its new managing director, following the departure of Tan Ming Luk.

In his new role, Soh will oversee the company’s business strategy and operations across Malaysia, with a mandate to strengthen foodpanda’s position as a go-to platform for meals, groceries, and daily essentials.

He brings with him extensive experience in Southeast Asia’s digital economy. Prior to joining foodpanda, Soh served as country manager for Malaysia at PropertyGuru Group, where he led the growth of both PropertyGuru and iProperty platforms.

Meanwhile, foodpanda APAC has also seen a number of leadership changes.

Last week, A+M reported that foodpanda APAC head of public relations Vernia Lim stepped down from her role after three years. In her role, Lim led regional and corporate reputation across 11 key markets, aligning internal communications, public policy and stakeholder engagement to support business priorities. The markets include Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, Pakistan, Taiwan, Philippines, Bangladesh, Laos, Cambodia, and Myanmar.

In October 2025, Foodpanda Hong Kong's director of marketing Carmen Wong departed after four years to pursue a new chapter in her career development.

Wong joined foodpanda Hong Kong in 2021 as head of marketing and was promoted to director of marketing in March last year, reporting to Ryan Lai, CEO of foodpanda Hong Kong.
