foodpanda Malaysia has appointed Kenneth Soh (pictured) as its new managing director (MD), as the delivery platform sharpens its focus on growth and everyday relevance in the country.

In his new role, Soh will oversee the company’s business strategy and operations across Malaysia, with a mandate to strengthen foodpanda’s position as a go-to platform for meals, groceries, and daily essentials.

Soh takes over the helm from foodpanda Malaysia's previous MD, Tan Ming Luk, who headed the market since October 2024.

He brings with him extensive experience in Southeast Asia’s digital economy. Prior to joining foodpanda, Soh served as country manager for Malaysia at PropertyGuru Group, where he led the growth of both PropertyGuru and iProperty platforms.

He also previously held senior leadership roles at Shopee Malaysia, overseeing platform growth, marketing, commercial development and external communications.

His appointment comes as foodpanda looks to deepen its positioning beyond food delivery, reinforcing its role as an everyday platform that integrates meals, groceries and retail offerings within a single ecosystem.

The move aligns with the brand’s broader “Make life delicious” direction, which centres on turning everyday moments into more seamless and enjoyable experiences through reliable delivery, a strong merchant network and value-driven offerings.

“Malaysians today are looking for more than just convenience. They want a seamless partner they can depend on for their daily needs,” said Soh.

He added that foodpanda is well positioned to meet these expectations by bringing together multiple services under one platform, while continuing to focus on operational excellence and customer experience.

Beyond consumers, Soh also highlighted the importance of strengthening support for merchants and delivery partners, whom he described as the backbone of the business.

Under his leadership, foodpanda Malaysia is expected to continue expanding its network of merchants and delivery partners, while enhancing its offerings across food delivery, quick commerce and retail partnerships.

The platform currently connects millions of Malaysians to a wide range of restaurants, grocery providers and local businesses through its on-demand delivery services, as competition in the space continues to intensify.

Based on checks by A+M, foodpanda is also on the lookout for a new head of public relations to join its APAC headquarters in Singapore, to work closely with its 10 markets.

Earlier in March 2025, foodpanda had named Bhavani Shankar Mishra as the new managing director for Singapore. He was formerly the senior director of operations at foodpanda.
