
VaynerMedia makes slew of creative promotions across APAC

VaynerMedia has made a slew of leadership promotions in APAC. Creative directors Mae Katherine Ong and JY Lay have been elevated to group creative directors, APAC, while associate creative directors Krystle Morais and William Beale have been elevated to creative directors, APAC. All of them report to VaynerMedia's head of creative and managing partner, VJ Anand. Ong, Lay and Beale are based in Singapore while Morais is based in Thailand.
According to VaynerMedia, Ong (pictured first from left) has over 10 years of traditional and digital experience within the industry. Throughout her career, she has led creative for global brands such as Disney, Nike, Netflix, Samsung and Nestlé. Prior to joining the agency, Ong helmed the role of creative director at BBH Asia Pacific and was in charge of brands comprising Nike, Samsung Global, YouTube APAC, and Jollibee Global. She was with BBH Asia Pacific for over four years.
Prior to joining BBH Asia Pacific, she was with Dentsu Aegis Network Asia Pacific for almost four years. She last held the role of associate creative director where she managed its creative team to ensure high-quality output, according to her LinkedIn. Her job scope also included people management, strategic ideation, creation, planning, analysis, and management of digital creative and integrated campaigns for FMCG brands such as Oreo, Cadbury, and Pringles.
Lay (pictured second from left) has been leading teams around the region and worked on clients ranging from Youtube, Mercedes, Samsung, Heineken, SK-II, among others. According to Lay's LinkedIn, he has many years of experience in both mainstream and digital platforms. Before joining VaynerMedia, Lay was based in Malaysia, and helmed creative director roles in Leo Burnett Malaysia and BBDO/Proximity Malaysia, and has experience working at TBWA\ (Creative Juice), FCB, and Saatchi & Saatchi Arachnid as well.
According to his LinkedIn, during his time with these creative agencies in Malaysia, he was responsible for managing local and regional accounts such as Maxis Hotlink, Celcom Xpax, Umobile, Unilever (Walls, Cornetto, Lipton, Planta, Dove), Astro, Fonterra (Anmum, Anlene), Mars (Snickers, M&Ms, Whiskas, Pedigree), Drypers, MBF, Visa, Air Asia, HP, BMW/Mini, McDonalds, KFC, Samsung, Microsoft, Honda, Nissan, CIMB, Redbull and Energizer.
Meanwhile, Beale (pictured second from right) specialises in Gen Z campaigns and content creation and has worked with the likes of Martell NCF, PUMA, Twisties, Disney, Apple Fox Cider, Eveready, SK-II, and Prudential. His key client experiences lie in alcohol, fashion and FMCG industries, according to Beale's LinkedIn. Beale has been with VaynerMedia for almost three years. Prior to joining VaynerMedia, Beale was with UltraSuperNew K.K. as senior copywriter where he was the creative lead for Martell NCF (a cognac brand made for Gen Z's) and PUMA, managing social media accounts and creating campaigns.
Beale also worked on local and regional accounts such as POND'S, Perrier Jouet, Grab, Apple Fox Cider, Storefriendly, and FairPrice. Apart from creative campaigns, Beale also created logos, brand identities and creative platforms for local beer brand Ren Min and streetwear platform Ox Street. He also has experience as a copywriter in agencies such as VMLY&R Asia, M&C Saatchi Melbourne, and TBWA\ Malaysia (Creative Juice).
Morais (pictured first from right) had worked with both international and local brands such as Chevrolet Global, SK-II, Grab, Wrigley’s, and Fonterra over the years in VaynerMedia. According to VaynerMedia, as a creative director, Morais is passionate about storytelling across all platforms. Morais has been with VaynerMedia for over two years, based in Thailand. Prior to joining VaynerMedia, she helmed the role of global senior copywriter in commonwealth digital foundry in Thailand. Before relocating to Thailand, she was based in Malaysia where she has experience as a copywriter with agencies comprising BBDO Malaysia and Leo Burnett Malaysia.

In June, VaynerMedia appointed Marc Langenfeld as head of media for Asia Pacific. Langenfeld serves as a strategic partner to clients, and help further build the agency’s integrated services. Langenfeld reports to Lindley. Langenfeld has over 12-years experience in the APAC region, and most recently, he was the APEX regional lead at Publicis Media APAC and has worked with Dentsu and Carat in various regional capacities.
