



Uniplan Shanghai names Sonny Shen MD, relocates ECD of Beijing office

Brand experience agency Uniplan Shanghai has appointed Sonny Shen (pictured left) as managing director. Shen will play a key role in enhancing the business for Shanghai office and reports to Geraldine Chew, CEO, Greater China. The Shanghai office will also be relocating Aiden Liu (pictured right), currently the executive creative director of Uniplan Beijing, who will be transferring to Shanghai office as executive creative director. Liu will report to Shen.
With over 20 years of marketing and sales experience on a range of platforms, Shen is an experienced professional with a demonstrated history of working in the areas of experiential marketing solutions, public relations and brand building. Shen was previously managing director of Edelman, a global public relations consultancy firm. Under her leadership, Uniplan claims that the company doubled its size in just three years to become the biggest international marketing communications firm in Shanghai.
Liu has been a part of Uniplan Beijing for six years. In that time, he has been involved in some of the agency’s best projects both as part of the creative team and as the creative lead. An artist by training, he has adapted his knowledge into the art of storytelling, helping the company develop its first planning team in Beijing.
In October, Uniplan also promoted executive creative director Judd Christie as managing director. Christie will lead the growth and development of Uniplan Hong Kong office and continue pushing forward the agency’s transformation process from a live communication to a full-service brand experience agency.
With over 20 years of experience working across the Asia Pacific region. Christie is passionate about creating impactful brand experience to engage audiences by drawing from a background that covers theatre, digital, advertising, strategy, film and TV. Since he joined Uniplan in 2018, Christie has led the team to create unique brand experience for diversified clients.
