Uber has partnered with non-franchised bus operator Kwoon Chung Bus to launch Uber Elite in Hong Kong, marking its Asia-Pacific debut with a premium ride option offering professional-grade reliability.
Kwoon Chung's commitment to service quality and vehicle standards aligns with Uber's focus on technology and customer experience, bringing together an established local operator with a global mobility platform.
Uber Elite is positioned as an alternative to traditional limousine services, combining Uber's app-based booking platform and transparent pricing with Kwoon Chung's fleet quality and professional service standards.
Uber Elite is designed for C-suite executives, business travellers, high-net-worth individuals, overseas tourists, and corporate clients booking on behalf of VIP guests. It offers a dedicated service experience that includes professional chauffeurs in uniform, all of whom complete a mandatory six-hour onboarding program and pass a rigorous assessment before their first trip.
The service also provides exclusive airport meet-and-greet arrangements at arrival halls, with direct access to designated limousine pick-up zones. In-car amenities include Wi-Fi, bottled water, snacks, device charging stations, and wet wipes.

Operating on a reserve-only basis, Uber Elite allows riders to book trips from two hours up to 90 days in advance. The service offers extended wait times of 30 minutes for regular trips and 60 minutes for airport pickups, supported by 24/7 customer assistance throughout the booking process.
Riders can book with a single tap in the Uber app, choosing from luxury MPVs that seat up to six passengers. Kwoon Chung's licensed premium fleet handles the transportation, ensuring consistent quality and professional service.
To celebrate the launch, Uber app users can enjoy a limited-time exclusive offer with 50% off their first Uber Elite trip, available through 31 August.
Estyn Chung, general manager of Uber Hong Kong, said: “Hong Kong's high-profile business community deserves a mobility service that moves at their speed without compromising on luxury. We are proud to make Hong Kong the first market for Uber Elite in APAC, in line with the city's role as a global financial and innovation hub. By fusing Uber's technology with Kwoon Chung Group's world-class professional transport service, we are not just launching a new ride option; we are redefining luxury ground transport. Uber Elite represents the pinnacle of smart mobility: a seamless, 'First Class on the Ground' experience designed for today’s business leaders."
Timothy Wong, executive director of Kwoon Chung Bus, said: "Kwoon Chung Bus has deep roots in Hong Kong's transport industry, and we have always maintained the strictest standards for service quality, vehicle conditions, and chauffeur professionalism.”
“For this partnership with Uber, we have specially deployed a premium fleet holding valid Hire Car Permits and arranged an exclusive six-hour training program for every Uber Elite chauffeur, covering safety, service standards, and app familiarisation. We are confident that this strong alliance will bring a safer, more considerate, and highly prestigious mobility experience to Hong Kong residents and visitors,” Wong added.

The acquisition is part of Uber’s continued investment in Hong Kong's taxi industry and brings together FlyTaxi’s trusted local expertise with Uber’s technology and operational experience. It aims to accelerate the growth of the taxi industry in Hong Kong, and underscores the city’s role as a key regional mobility hub.
