tiket.com ramps up sustainable travel with Artotel and Rumah Atsiri tie-up

Travel platform tiket.com is sharpening its push into sustainable tourism, partnering with Artotel Group and Rumah Atsiri Indonesia to reposition travel as a more purpose-led, experience-driven proposition.

Unveiled on 22 April 2026 at ARTOTEL Thamrin, the collaboration marks the next phase of tiket.com’s tiket Green initiative, anchored around the concept of “accommodations with experience”. The shift reflects a broader attempt to move beyond transactional bookings towards stays that deliver environmental and community impact alongside comfort.

Rather than treating accommodation as a functional endpoint, tiket.com is positioning it as an entry point into curated, meaningful experiences – ranging from sustainability-led hospitality practices to community-driven and educational activities.

“As the most loved OTA and lifestyle platform, tiket.com continues to develop tiket Green, which by 2025 has introduced more than 8,000 sustainable accommodation options across Indonesia and Southeast Asia. Through this initiative, we also aim to strengthen our role in driving the industry’s transformation towards more responsible tourism,” said Gaery Undarsa, co-founder and CMO, tiket.com.

The pivot comes as consumer sentiment increasingly tilts towards purpose-driven travel. According to tiket.com’s Travel Industry Outlook 2026, 63% of travellers are now familiar with sustainable travel, with 67% having stayed in eco-friendly accommodation.

Motivations are also evolving. Around 69% of travellers want to contribute to environmental preservation, 49% aim to support local communities, and 41% are seeking more meaningful experiences – signalling a shift from sustainability as a niche concern to a value-led mainstream preference.

The partnership structure reflects an ecosystem approach. Artotel Group brings scale, with more than 100 hotels and 10,000 rooms across Indonesia, alongside sustainability certification from the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC). Around 40% of its portfolio has already updated sustainability programmes.

“As part of the hospitality industry, we see sustainability as a long-term commitment that must be implemented consistently across our entire network. Through various ESG initiatives, we continue to advance more responsible operational practices, while ensuring the guest experience remains comfortable and relevant,” said Eduard Rudolf Pangkerego, chief operating officer, Artotel Group.

Meanwhile, Rumah Atsiri Indonesia adds depth through its positioning as an aromatic wellness destination, integrating education, sustainability, and community empowerment into its offering.

“Sustainability does not stop at operational practices; it must also be brought to life as an experience that can be felt directly. Through the integration of education, exploration, and community empowerment, we aim to deliver experiences that are not only meaningful for visitors, but also create tangible impact for the environment and society,” said Natasha Clairine, director and founder, Rumah Atsiri Indonesia.

To accelerate adoption, tiket.com is pairing the initiative with short-term incentives, including a STAYGREEN promo code offering 5% cashback for both domestic and international accommodation bookings within specified minimum spends. The promotion runs from 22 April to 3 May 2026.

Beyond tactical promotions, the company is positioning tiket Green as an accessibility play – aiming to make sustainable travel options easier to discover and more relevant across different traveller segments.

The broader ambition is to influence both supply and demand: connecting consumers with sustainability-driven partners while nudging industry players towards more responsible practices.

“We hope sustainable travel will no longer be seen as an alternative, but as the default choice. tiket Green is our step towards driving that shift, both across the industry and in consumer behaviour,” Undarsa concluded.
