TBWA\Hong Kong has bolstered its creative leadership team with four new promotions, including promoting its executive creative director Jerome Ooi (pictured right) to the newly created chief creative experience officer role for the agency. In his new role, Ooi will report to Joanne Lao, chief executive officer, TBWA\Greater China.

The appointments were made as the agency sees Hong Kong as a dynamic market, moving at speed, with on-going market opportunities always changing. Moving on, the newly appointed executives will work with Terence Ling, chief strategy and innovation officer, TBWA\ Hong Kong.

Prior to his new role, Ooi was the executive creative director at TBWA\HK. Before that, he had worked at Commonwealth// McCann, Digital Foundry and was responsible for developing the creative for Chevrolet.

On his appointment, Ooi said, “Bringing purpose and cohesion across every interaction, be it with employees or customers, opens creative opportunities to meaningfully engage and connect."

“With a disruptive, enduring brand platform at its core, this is when advocacy for a brand is built and where exponential growth for the business can be found. This is why we are committed to invest and innovate across the total brand experience," Ooi added.

Meanwhile, the agency's business director for Hong Kong Jan Lee (pictured second right) has been named general manager, while Anne Chan (pictured second left) has been promoted to head of growth and product from her previous role of head of digital. Chan and Lee will also report to Lao.

Lee was elevated to the general manager role from her previous role as brand director of the agency, whereas Chan was previously head of digital and now becomes the head of growth and product for the agency.

Following the Hong Kong leadership announcements, Jan Cho (pictured left), managing director of TBWA\Hong Kong will assume a global role as head of product and distribution, TBWA\Worldwide. Cho will transfer to London, whilst continuing to play an advisory role for key clients in Hong Kong for the remainder of the year.

Commenting on the appointments, Lao said: “It’s with great pride we’re in a position to announce the elevation of key members of our Hong Kong team who have been instrumental in driving the strategy to reshape our Hong Kong operation to create impact for our clients’ businesses, securing them a greater share of the future.”

“The growth of our people has a direct correlation with the growth and success of our agency. The elevation of these roles reflects our determination to lead in creative brand experience, backed by a strong team with an unwavering commitment to innovation that delivers unique solutions for clients. These are well-deserved promotions with a highly talented team who have a strong and proven track record," Lao added.

Lao is excited to bring the agency's innovation ethos to a worldwide stage. "My new role represents the global aspirations of the Hong Kong office and is a testament to the incredible team we have built," added Cho.
