



Tatler HK hires ad and media veteran Maralyn Ho as GM

Tatler Hong Kong has hired advertising and media veteran Maralyn Ho (pictured) as general manager, commercial. Ho brings with her more than 25 years’ experience in developing business and supporting clients, through her roles at Yahoo! Hong Kong, Dow Jones and Company and the Financial Times, where she worked for nine and a half years as commercial director, Greater China, South and Southeast Asia.
Most recently, she held roles as managing director of Ptarmigan Media as well as having founded her own consulting firm, 7 Pebbles Consulting, developing sales/marking strategy and digital transformation plan for companies from start-ups to international corporations.
As GM, Ho will drive business and client engagement strategy and develop innovative products and services to support commercial success in Hong Kong. She is tasked to drive revenue growth, increase client engagement, develop innovative products and services to support commercial success.
Earlier this week, Tatler launched a new website on August 8, TatlerAsia.com. The new site aims to be the global destination for and about Asia’s most influential, and a platform to celebrate their positive impact on society. Advertisers can expect an online experience redesigned with the modern consumer in mind, all while retaining the sophistication and flair that Tatler is known for. TatlerAsia.com is a broader and more interactive extension of the Tatler magazine, which in March 2020, launched its most ambitious print redesign and content transformation to date. Since then, Tatler has continued to develop its business model, expanding into new channels such as eCommerce with TatlerUnlisted and lifestyle venues such as Tatler House and Tatler Dining Kitchen.
Currently, Tatler’s advertisers are largely from luxury and lifestyle brands, financial institutions and services sectors. The print edition of the magazine runs at a monthly frequency with a 31,500 circulation in Hong Kong. Its online readership is claimed to be at 1.3 million unique users per month.
Nicholas Chan, who joined Tatler Hong Kong as managing director earlier in the year, will be relocating to Canada with his family later in the year. In the interim, Michel Lamunière, chairman & CEO of the Tatler Asia Group, will be leading the Hong Kong operations, with Ho reporting directly into him. “The wealth of experience Ho brings will help us to accelerate our evolution and success in Hong Kong, and I couldn’t be more excited by her joining our team,” said Lamunière.
Ho added, "I am thrilled to join such a prestigious team at Tatler, an iconic brand with great ambition. I am really excited to be working with the teams on this journey and looking forward to great success ahead."
A year ago Tatler Asia also hired another adland veteran, appointing Susana Tsui as its Southeast Asia lead. The former Dentsu Aegis Network's group CEO of the China market joined theAsianparent in September last year.
Meanwhile, Edipresse Media Asia rebranded to Tatler Asia Group last year with several key appointments leading the change. As the publisher of several brands, including Tatler Asia, Generation T, T.Dining, and Home Journal, the company states is now "in a unique position to become the go-to omni-media brand among Asia’s most influential and affluent audiences."
