Intellectual Property Office of Singapore names new PR agency

Ruder Finn Asia has been named the public relations agency of record for the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS).

The agency will lead communications efforts to share IPOS-related news and insights on intellectual property (IP) trends and developments across Singapore and the region.

The pitch was first called on 20 February this year and saw eight agencies vying for the mandate, including H/Advisors Klareco, Hume Brophy Communications, Lewis Public Relations, Livingword Communications, Momentum AI Communications, Socium Consultancy, Vero Marketing Services and eventual winner Ruder Finn Asia.

As Singapore’s national authority on IP, IPOS provides legal, technical and business expertise to advise on and administer IP laws, build capability and awareness, and develop the infrastructure that supports the growth of the IP and intangible assets (IA) ecosystem.

Ruder Finn Asia will serve as the main point of contact for any media enquiries, interview requests or features related to IPOS. 

Currently, the agency is working on a number of initiatives such as IP Week @ SG 2025, national efforts to advance IA/IP valuation and commercialisation, and innovation and policy partnerships with global stakeholders, with more details to come in due time. 

This is just one of Ruder Finn Asia's recent wins following the news that the agency has been named the agency behind a US$50 million global tourism drive for Hong Kong in February. MARKETING-INTERACTIVE understands that the appointment aims to change the negative narratives around the city. 

It is understood that the work was prompted by the requirement to re-establish Hong Kong’s global brand and reputation which have been badly damaged over the years.

The campaign will see integrated social, digital, advertising and PR campaigns running in the US, South America, the Middle East, Europe, Japan and Australia. Hong Kong will be shown as a vibrant, adventurous, dynamic and energetic travel and business destination.
