Spritzer makes a splash with its first sonic logo

What does a bottled water brand sound like? For Spritzer, the answer starts with the bottle itself.
The Malaysian bottled water brand is giving its “Flow with joy” platform a new sensory dimension with its first sonic logo, a 2.7-second audio signature designed to make Spritzer recognisable through sound as well as sight.
Created with Malaysian audio branding agency Sonic Lobby, the sonic logo is intended to capture the movement, lightness and joy at the heart of “Flow with joy”, which launched earlier this year as part of Spritzer’s first major brand refresh in decades.
Finding that sound, however, meant going back to the physical product.
Rather than building the identity around a conventional musical composition, Sonic Lobby explored the acoustic possibilities of the Spritzer bottle, experimenting with blowing, tapping and pumping it. The team also played with the sounds created by Spritzer water and droplets, drawing on the brand’s familiar droplet icon.

The final identity centres on a short whistle melody, chosen for its playful and human quality, paired with the voiced “Flow with joy” tagline. Together, the elements form a compact audio signature that Spritzer can carry across its communications.
The sonic logo comes in primary, instrumental and voice-only versions, allowing it to be adapted for social media, radio advertising, campaign videos and roadshows.
For Sonic Lobby founder Phoebe Lee, the process began with a question that went beyond simply finding a catchy sound.
“What does water sound like? For us, the starting point was understanding what Spritzer wanted people to feel through ‘Flow with joy’, and how we could bring that emotion to life through sound," she explained.
The agency worked closely with Spritzer throughout the development, refining different creative directions through feedback. The process even extended into the recording studio, where Spritzer’s marketing team was invited to record its own version of the sonic logo during the official voice-recording session.
Lee said the project also reflects a wider opportunity for Malaysian brands to use sound as a way of expressing their personalities.
We see a real opportunity for Malaysian brands to express more of their personality through sound. Spritzer is an early adopter of sonic branding in the bottled-water category, and through consistent use over time, our goal is for the sonic logo to become a recognisable part of the brand.
For Spritzer, the challenge was ultimately about making sure the sound felt true to the brand rather than simply memorable.
“Sonic Lobby took the time to understand our company's brand purpose and proposition, shared different ideas, and were always open to feedback and fine-tuning,” said Deqian Lee, brand manager at Spritzer. “They went the extra mile to get the sound just right, and we’re very happy with how it turned out.”
The move comes as Spritzer continues to build “Flow with joy” as a long-term brand platform rather than a standalone campaign. The refresh marks a shift beyond Spritzer’s traditional role in hydration towards a broader positioning around everyday wellness.
That ambition is already playing out across film, digital, retail, fleet and community experiences. The sonic logo adds another layer to the identity, giving “Flow with joy” an audio cue that can be repeated across different consumer touchpoints and, over time, become associated with the brand itself.
The platform is also moving beyond advertising and into communities, with experiential activations led by Our Stories Lab. These have included a “Hot girl walk”, community run, HYROX workout session and guided journalling experience, developed with communities including Weekend Athletics, Afterburn and Teman Girls.
Rather than applying one format across audiences, the experiences were shaped around each community’s existing interests and ways of connecting, reflecting the idea that there is no single way to “Flow with joy”. The initiative has generated more than 500 pieces of user-generated content.
Together, the sonic identity and community experiences show how Spritzer is extending the refresh beyond advertising, turning “Flow with joy” from a proposition into something consumers can hear, experience and eventually recognise as distinctly Spritzer.
