Spritzer invites Malaysians to fall back in love with local faves this Merdeka

This Merdeka and Hari Malaysia 2026, Spritzer Sparkling is inviting Malaysians to rediscover the flavours of local dishes through its “Reset rasa” campaign.
Anchored by a humorous commercial centred on nasi lemak, the campaign invites consumers to refresh their palates between bites with Spritzer Sparkling Natural Mineral Water, in a bid to rediscover the flavours, textures and aromas of Malaysia’s much-loved local dishes.
The campaign, running across Merdeka and Hari Malaysia, is built around three food-pairing benefits coined by the brand: ‘Menyegar deria’ ('refreshing the senses') ‘Keaslian dirasai’ ('tasting authenticity') and ‘Meningkat rasa’, ('elevating flavours').
At the heart of the campaign is the "Reset rasa" Merdeka commercial, which takes a tongue-in-cheek approach to the familiar Malaysian ritual of eating nasi lemak.

In the less-than-one-minute film, viewers are given a mock-serious guide to enjoying the dish, from opening its iconic pyramid-shaped packet and taking in its aromas to sampling each component, including the anchovies, nuts, sambal, egg and rice.
The twist comes before the next bite, when consumers are prompted to take a gulp of Spritzer Sparkling. Dramatically scored by Vivaldi, the film suggests that refreshing the palate could make the next mouthful all the more enjoyable.
Spritzer Sparkling comes in three variants, 'Classic', 'Lemon', and 'Sea Salt & citron', with the brand highlighting its zero-sugar and zero-calorie proposition as part of the campaign.
The campaign stems from the observation that Malaysians can become so accustomed to their favourite local dishes that they may overlook what makes them distinctive in the first place.
“Food is one of the strongest connections Malaysians share, regardless of race, language or background. Many of our favourite dishes have become such a familiar part of our daily lives that we sometimes stop noticing what makes them so memorable. Through ‘Reset rasa’, we want to encourage Malaysians to embark on this journey of rediscovery,” said Shiao Chan, head of marketing at Spritzer.
Beyond the commercial, the nationwide campaign will also feature recipes and roadshows, with further details available through Spritzer’s campaign microsite.
The campaign positions Spritzer Sparkling as a dining companion for local favourites, with the brand aiming to encourage Malaysians to experience familiar dishes through a refreshed palate.
The "Reset rasa" campaign builds on Spritzer Sparkling’s recent push to position the product beyond a conventional beverage. During Hari Raya 2026, the brand’s "Serikan Raya, sparkling-kan suasana" campaign introduced Spritzer Sparkling as a cooking ingredient for the first time, using its carbonation to enhance the texture and tenderness of festive dishes.
Both campaigns tap into Malaysia’s food culture while finding new ways to demonstrate the versatility of Spritzer Sparkling. Where the Raya campaign brought sparkling water into the kitchen, "Reset rasa" takes it to the dining table, positioning the product as a palate refresher that can help consumers experience familiar local dishes with a renewed appreciation for their flavours.
