Ogilvy Thailand has appointed Gumpon Laksanajinda (pictured) as its new chief creative officer.  Laksanajinda will provide creative leadership, strengthen and diversify Ogilvy’s creative capabilities, and empower teams across all creative functions in his new role. He will use his craftsmanship and skills to maintain Ogilvy’s standard of producing works. MARKETING-INTERACTIVE has reached out to Ogilvy Thailand for more information about him.

With an education background in communication art and design, Laksanajinda pursued his career in advertising, mainly with Ogilvy, and became executive creative director at Ogilvy in 2020. Laksanajinda said, "The main reason that keeps Ogilvy Thailand’s name firmly on the global creative stage is our unique culture of always anticipating and embracing change. No matter how abrupt or unpredictable the challenges are, we have always been able to overcome and rise above them. This culture has also empowered our diverse teams of creative talents to create works that transcend trends and focus more on real impact on the people, the planet, and the performance."

He explained that he will focus on enhancing the company's creative capabilities in four key areas. The first is variety. "Thanks to our comprehensive services that include advertising, PR & influence, experience, health, and consulting, we are able to solve clients’ marketing problems creatively and innovatively. Our works can be custom-made to suit various formats and platforms depending on clients' objectives and budgets - from social media snippets, and branded content, to full-scale experience and eCommerce," he said.

He added, second is speed and scale. The company will utilise latest technologies in the creative cloud to make its creative process seamless and its creative works scalable in order to serve clients’ increasingly dynamic needs. The third is talent. The company welcomes fresh and seasoned talents from a wide variety of backgrounds, skills, and interests, as long as they are passionate about using creativity to make the big differences. He said that the last area is effective impact. The company is convinced that works with mere commercial results are not enough to grow and sustain brands in the long run. It will join hands with its clients to push forward projects that promote positive impact for the people and the planet on top of business performance.  "We will make sure our clients walk with confidence toward the future with us by their side.”

Nopadol Srikieatikajohn, Ogilvy Thailand's chairman said, “The deep love and understanding Laksanajinda has for his clients’ projects allow him to create works that are always among the industry’s most meticulous, most carefully crafted, and most effective. It is about time that Laksanajinda uses his accumulated experiences and expertise to bring our company to a new era to pass on our unique DNA to the next generation of creative talents.”

Separately, the company appointed Chatree Chokmongkolsatian as its chief strategy officer. According to Ogilvy Thailand, Chokmongkolsatian is a strategist who has spent many years making waves in the agency business. Before joining Ogilvy, he was the head of the business and strategy group at Cheil Worldwide, specialising in digital and retail marketing – ranging from brand communications, media and data, experience, and eCommerce, to new and emerging platform businesses.   He has worked with clients such as Samsung, Siam Commercial Bank (SCB), Nestle, Advanced Info Service (AIS), Thaibev, Beiersdorf and many more.
