BMW Asia puts media account up for review

BMW Asia and Performance Motors Limited has called for a media pitch. Marketing understands that the pitch is for the Singapore market, and the incumbent on the account is MediaCom.MediaCom won the media duties for Singapore market in January 2017. BMW confirmed the appointment to Marketing at that time. According to BMW Asia then, MediaCom’s vast experience in automotive industry made it the right profile to take the brand to greater heights.In May this year, BMW Asia together with local dealer Performance Motors put its creative account up for grabs. The incumbent on the account is Leo Burnett Singapore, which was appointed for regional duties in July 2017 for a period of three years.Globally, the automotive brand has been in the news recently. Harald Krüger, CEO of BMW will reportedly step down as the board members seek a replacement. According to several news outlets such as Financial Times, CNN, Forbes and others, Kruger has been with the company for over 30 years and leaves to “pursue professional endeavours“. Meanwhile, BMW Group aims to step up the pace of e-mobility expansion, two years ahead of schedule. The company unveiled its plan to have 25 electrified models in 2023 and to double sales of electrified vehicles by 2021.
