McDonald’s Philippines brought its Fries fans together for its first-ever McDo Fry Fest, with thousands of consumers gathering across more than 60 branches nationwide on 4 September.

The nationwide activation marked the culmination of the quick service restaurant’s months-long celebration of its World Famous Fries, giving fans access to unlimited Fries alongside games and activities centred on their shared love for the menu staple.

The celebration began on 10 July with National Fries Day, when McDonald’s Philippines offered its BFF Fries for 99 pesos (US$1.58) for one day. The brand then turned every Friday into a “Fry Day”, offering weekly deals and exclusive offers designed to encourage customers to enjoy and share its Fries.

The Fry Fest brought the campaign to a close by creating what McDonald’s Philippines described as its first-ever unlimited Fries experience, while shifting the focus from the product itself to the community built around it.

“We are thankful to everyone who celebrated our World Famous Fries during National Fries Day and every Fry Day that followed. Fry Fest is our way of bringing together the community of Pinoy Fries fans who have continuously shown their love for our World Famous Fries. We wanted to create a fun and memorable experience that celebrates not only the product, but the people who have made it a favourite through the years,” said Ada Almendras-Lazaro, McDonald’s Philippines chief marketing officer.

Participants also received a limited-edition Fries pouch with a wrist strap to take home.

McDonald’s Philippines said its World Famous Fries, made from whole potatoes that are cut, deep-fried and salted, have become a longstanding favourite among Filipino consumers.

Beyond taste and consistency, the brand positioned the Fries as part of everyday moments and occasions shared among family and friends.

“The emotional connection of our Fries to generations of Pinoys is built not just with how good it is but how it has been part of moments and memories that fans and customers cherish,” added Almendras-Lazaro.

Following the Fry Fest, McDonald’s Philippines said its Fries will continue to be available nationwide through dine-in, take-out, drive-thru, McDelivery and third-party delivery platforms.

McDonald’s Philippines has close to 800 stores nationwide. The business is operated by master franchise holder Dr George T. Yang, who brought the first McDonald’s restaurant to the Philippines in 1981.

From AI-powered marketing and the friction economy to retention-led growth, DMA Philippines 2026 on 29 September in Manila will bring together marketers to tackle the opportunities and challenges shaping the next phase of digital transformation.
