McCann Worldgroup's ECD of Southeast Asia, Mark Ringer, has exited the agency. McCann confirmed the news to MARKETING-INTERACTIVE, adding that the team wishes Ringer all the best. The agency added that there is currently no replacement in place for the roles held by Ringer. MARKETING-INTERACTIVE understands that Ringer is currently located in Australia, and will be announcing his new role soon.
Ringer's exit comes approximately eight months after he took on the role of Southeast Asia ECD. This new role was an expansion of his previous remit of regional creative director for Mastercard for the Asia Pacific market and ECD for McCann Worldgroup Singapore. Ringer reported to Nick Handel, president, Southeast Asia, McCann Worldgroup, in his role.
Prior to McCann, Ringer helmed the role of creative director at dentsu, where he was in charge of global, regional and local business, across all media. He was also the ECD for TBWA\ in Hong Kong for over five year from 2007, according to his LinkedIn. Ringer is no stranger to the Australia market, having worked in locations such as Melbourne and Sydney in his career. Other agencies that Ringer has had stints with include DDB and FCB.
Meanwhile in October last year, Digital SEA Indonesia appointed Chetan Shetty as its managing director.
