Lion & Lion has hired Ham Maghazeh as head of social media to fuel future social innovation for business growth across the company’s key markets and offices. In this new role, he will be responsible for propelling the company’s value to deliver a genuine impact for businesses in Southeast Asia by enabling creative solutions for experiential and integrated campaigns. He will be directly reporting to Cheelip Ong, regional chief creative officer of Lion & Lion.
Cheelip Ong, regional chief creative officer of Lion & Lion says "As we evolve our creative solutions with the arrival of each new social media channel, it is pivotal that we help brands discover the most optimal ways to engage in the social media space. Ham's rich expertise in digital and social content engagement will help our brands deliver even more impact with their content.".
A digital native multi-discipline professional, Maghazeh brings in a rich 15 years of digital and social media communications experience working with brands such as Mondelez, Pepsico, Diageo Unilever, Samsung, RHB just to name a few. Maghazeh was previously with Dolphin as digital director and was also social media at BBDO Malaysia. He previously worked with Publicis One and Isobar in the social capacity as well.
On his appointment, Maghazeh said, “I can’t wait to partner with Ong and the Lion & Lion team to level up our offering with the magic of creativity by creating content that converts; by combining social data and technology, content and commerce solutions. There is a huge potential in ever evolving social space for what we can achieve together for our clients."
Last year the agency also hired Ben Chew as MD for Malaysia as Jeppe Carlsen assumed the role of group director, new business and strategy, a newly created regional role focused on the agency’s growth. Chew will be leading the agency into the next stage of its successful transformation, along with playing a key role in propelling Lion & Lion's integrated marketing model at a regional level. Prior to Lion & Lion, Chew was MD of BBDO Malaysia, which announced in April that it is folding operations in Malaysia. He was appointed to the role at BBDO in September 2019, replacing Farrah Harith-McPherson who joined m/SIX as GM.
