Hong Kong Tourism Board calls for global creative pitch

The Hong Kong Tourism Board is on the hunt for a global creative agency to promote the city's unique offerings.

The chosen agency will be tasked at providing creative services that will shape HKTB's communications and highlight Hong Kong’s unique appeal on the global stage. The scope of services will include, but is not limited to, account management, strategic planning, and creative services to support HKTB's communication strategy and promote Hong Kong’s uniqueness.

The contract period is for the next three years, with the possibility of extending for a further three years, subject to satisfactory performance.

All agencies intending to pitch shall provide an expression of interest on a company letterhead and send it via email to Eva Cheung (eva.cheung@hktb.com) or Kelly Xu (kelly.xu@hktb.com).

Global creative agencies interested in tendering and wishing to obtain the tender documents must submit an Express of Interest (“EOI”) letter by 14 January.

This comes after Hong Kong leader John Lee Ka-chiu vowed to deploy innovative thinking to turn the city to a "preferred travel destination", as the city welcomed over 45 million visitors last year, marking a 12% year-on-year rise.

Lee has vowed to attract more mainland and international enterprises to set up headquarters or corporate divisions in the city, aiming to boost local economy and employment rate.

Lee also laid out his plans as part of his latest policy address, including developing a premium arts trading hub and promoting diverse growth in the West Kowloon Cultural District (WKCD) and local cultural industries. This includes creating an arts ecosystem at Airport City, featuring studios, galleries, and dealers, supported by large-scale storage and facilities. Additionally, it will enhance the international arts trading platform by deepening collaboration with Art Basel, solidifying Hong Kong's position as the region's exclusive host city.

In terms of fostering the development of local cultural and creative industries, the government has announced enhancements to the positioning of various performance venues with the opening of the Kai Tak Sports Park (KTSP). The Hong Kong Coliseum will focus on concerts, the East Kowloon Cultural Centre will promote long-running performances and arts technology, and the Sha Tin Town Hall Auditorium will prominently feature Cantonese opera."
