vIKHLAS, airasia.com's Muslim-friendly line of business, has launched its eCommerce function "Shop with IKHLAS" to meet increasing demand by Muslim-friendly customers in the market. It offers a wide range of products from praying mats and amenities, dry food, pre-packaged meals, halal fresh meats, beauty, health supplements, books, Islamic art, garments, and merchandise, among others.

Ikhlas Kamarudin, head of IKHLAS, said it is pleased to be supporting local businesses through this platform so it can continue helping them to stay afloat during challenging times. "he launch of ‘Shop with IKHLAS’ is timely with Ramadhan around the corner and we aim to be a one-stop Muslim-friendly lifestyle platform that provides affordable products and services for the Muslim community nationwide," he added.

For every purchase made from Shop with IKHLAS, a portion will be donated to its Sadaqah service and will be used to purchase basic necessities for people in need nationwide. In conjunction with the launch, the platform is offering a 10% discount on products until 31 March. At the same time, it is also running a Mystery Box campaign from 20 March until 30 April, with the prize worth RM300. A+M has reached out to airasia.com for additional information.

IKHLAS is one of the offerings under the super app managed by airasia.com. Other offerings include airasia shop, airasia food, airasia fresh, hotels, flights and unlimited deals. "Airasia.com is not only about connecting people to destinations, more than that it’s about connecting people to people, creating communities among like-minded travellers, sharing best-eats tips and fostering social-based commerce," airasia.com CEO Karen Chan said previously.

Last year, IKHLAS unveiled its Aqiqah service, which is defined as the slaughter of certain animals on the occasion of a newborn child, in addition to shaving or cutting their hair and naming the child. The service encompasses Aqiqah Abroad - covering over 35 countries worldwide including Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Philippines, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, India, Palestine and Pakistan, among others.

Meanwhile in a bid to turn the app into a one-stop multipurpose messaging platform, AirAsia recently introduced the real-time chat feature which allows users to pick and choose community chat rooms with topics that resonate with them and chat with other users as well. It also expanded into the cluttered food delivery space in Singapore last month, touting a special sign-on rate as low as 8% for the month of March.
