Video and CTV programmatic advertising platform Unruly has appointed Grant Bingham as VP of international media business development. The ad tech veteran and former head of publisher services at American web portal and online service provider, AOL will now lead all media partnerships in Unruly’s international markets across the APAC and EMEA regions. Bingham (pictured) will be based in Syndey and reports to chief strategy officer, Kenneth Suh. In his role, Bingham will focus on identifying and capitalising on the major opportunities for media companies, as well as the Connected TV and video demand surges in the programmatic marketplace. Bingham will also be required to deliver omnichannel advertising solutions and monetisation strategies to various media organisations and brands.
With 13 years of media and advertising experience under his belt, Bingham has worked closely with broadcasters and publishers from the Asia Pacific to Europe. In addition, Bingham has launched and led the programmatic strategy for companies such as AOL, Nine Entertainment Seven West Media, and Are Media. According to the company, Bingham's experiences places him in good stead in driving the adoption of Unruly’s programmatic offering, especially in the rapidly growing CTV market. MARKETING-INTERACTIVE has reached out to Unruly for additional information regarding the role.
"We are thrilled to welcome Grant on board our team," said Suh. In fact, his broad experience and expertise in the media and ad tech industry makes him a valuable addition to Unruly as we continue our growth as one of the largest CTV/OTT and multi-screen ad platforms in the world, Suh added. According to Suh, the APAC and EMEA regions are a critical focal point for Unruly. He believes, with Bingham's appointment, it will help to accelerate the value and opportunities Unruly brings to its publishers and advertisers in these regions.
Meanwhile in October 2021, Unruly's parent firm Tremor International acquired Spearad, a global CTV video ad server and media management platform, for US$14.7 million. Following the acquisition, Spearad founders Erhard Neumann and Mark Thielen will join the Tremor leadership team.
Tremor's CEO Ofer Druker said the company's consistent, primary focus on video and CTV has proven prescient in today’s market, leading to meaningful growth across its exchange and putting the company ahead of platforms only recently evolving from display. "The acquisition further strengthens our leadership position as a video-first end-to-end platform, which provides real efficiencies for global advertisers, media companies and broadcasters in an ecosystem increasingly centered on CTV," he added.
Separately in February this year, Unruly launched a new data-driven digital creative studio. Named Tr.ly (pronounced "truly"), the studio will provide advertisers access to a full range of video creative solutions across all screens. These services range from the creation of a brand’s digital assets from scratch, to the optimisation of existing assets to help drive better campaign performance.
