Mobile telecommunications service provider U Mobile has launched a creative pitch.
The four agencies pitching for the account are TBWA, McCann Erickson and Spin Communications and the incumbent BBDO Malaysia, a spokesperson from U Mobile confirmed to A+M.
The objective of the pitch is to better consolidate its creative business. “Because of our ever-growing workload, we are looking for an alternative agency to assist us in terms of creative ideation and adding value to our communications,” the spokesperson told A+M.
BBDO still handles the bulk of the business and there is a possibility of hiring more than one agency for the account. The appointed agency will be tasked to handle the company’s postpaid business and an upcoming data project. Details of this project were not disclosed.
Meanwhile, Jeanette Lee who is head of marketing communications & branding of U Mobile is set to depart the company at the end of October. Lee has over 20 years of experience in marketing and communications. She held marcomm positions at DiGi Telecommunications, OCBC Bank and Indosat before joining U Mobile in 2011.
She will be replaced by Schrene Goh who is presently head of marketing at AirAsia where she has spent more than eight years in marketing and communications.
