Tom Dery steps down as worldwide chairman of M&C Saatchi

Tom Dery (pictured left), worldwide chairman of M&C Saatchi Network, has stepped down after nine years in the role. He will remain as chairman of M&C Saatchi Australia and will continue working out of the Sydney office.Dery played an important role in growing M&C Saatchi, founding the Australian, Asian and West Coast US businesses. During his time as worldwide chairman, he pursued his passion for bringing business and non-profit causes together.“I’m delighted to be continuing to work with the Australian business and doing everything I can to assist Jaimes Leggett and his management team. The past nine years as worldwide chairman and thirteen years as chairman of Asia Pacific have allowed me to establish and nurture some very dear relationships with our clients and people," Dery said.Dery was a founding partner of ad agency The Campaign Palace, and chairman and founder of Whybin Dery & Barnes, which became known as TBWA\Australia. He also served as managing director of DDB Melbourne and as of May 1995, the executive chairman of M&C Saatchi Asia Pacific."Tom Dery is a legend in advertising and deservedly so. He is the creator of many highly successful and respected companies in our network. She was previously managing partner of Ogilvy & Mather Malaysia. Meanwhile, M&C Saatchi has appointed Richard Morewood as regional CEO to look over the Singapore, Malaysia, New Delhi, Tokyo and Shanghai markets.
