Hong Kong singer Gloria Tang, popularly known as G.E.M., has her coming three shows at Kai Tak Stadium from 15 to 17 August sell out within an hour of public sales opening on Friday morning (4 July).

Titled “G.E.M. I AM GLORIA 世界巡回演唱會2.0”, the ticket prices range from HK$680 to HK$1,780. Sponsored by AIA, the concert was available for public sale at 12pm on Friday on HK Ticketing, Trip.com, as well as Chinese ticketing platform 大麥 and C.trip.

According to Sing Tao Daily and SCMP, the cheapest seats for the Saturday and Sunday shows on 16 and 17 August, priced at HK$680 each, sold out within three minutes. Although the HK Ticketing website indicated that most tickets in other categories were still available, attempts to select tickets were unsuccessful, displaying a pop-up message that read, “There are currently too many visits, please try again.” G.E.M’s second show on 16 August will coincide with her birthday, adding special significance to the event.

By 12:10pm, all standard tickets for the Saturday show had sold out, leaving only seats with restricted views available, according to the reports. By 12.54pm, all tickets for all three shows were entirely sold out.

A number of fans took to HK Ticketing's Facebook page to voice their complaints about the ticketing experience, with some reporting similar technical issues, MARKETING-INTERACTIVE confirmed.

Later, G.E.M. announced on Instagram that an additional show will be added on 19 August, with priority ticket sales starting on 11 July on Klook and public sales opening on 15 July.

The concerts mark G.E.M.'s return to her career roots after eight years, and she will also mark the first female solo artist to headline at Kai Tak Stadium since its opening.
