Telekom Malaysia has appointed Mudah.my's former head of marketing, Andrew Pinto, as its head of brand and marketing. In his role, Pinto (pictured) will be responsible for growing all of Telekom Malaysia's brands, which includes TM, unifi and TM ONE. He will be reporting to be CMO, Shanti Jusnita Johari. Prior to joining Telekom Malaysia, Pinto helmed the head of marketing role at Mudah.my for more than five years.

"Pinto has been a key contributor to Mudah’s success for over five years and we wish him the very best in his next endeavour," Mudah.my CEO Gaurav Bhasin told A+M. While the company is on the hunt for a suitable successor after Pinto's departure, Bhasin added that Pinto has left behind "a very capable team who will continue to support the business very ably".

Before Mudah.my, Pinto was the general manager for dentsu's creative arm, Isobar. During this time there, he was responsible for the transformation of a "loss-making creative power house" by combining brand leadership with digital innovations, said his LinkedIn. Most of Pinto's career is attributed to his time at McCann Worldgroup, where he helmed the group director role for head of momentum. As group director, Pinto specialised in brand development, brand repositioning and integrated engagement planning, said his LinkedIn. Some of his key clients included Mastercard, Nestle, Sime Darby, PETRONAS, and Mitsubishi Motors, among others.

Separately, in December 2019, Telekom Malaysia formalised a commercial and marketing arrangement with OYO Malaysia, extending the companies' existing working relationship to benefit more local as well as foreign travelers. Under the partnership, Telekom Malaysia has provided its full suite of unifi services including high-speed broadband access, unifi TV and unifi Mobile to enable patrons of OYO Hotels and Homes. Meanwhile, OYO Malaysia offered special promos for TM customers for their stay at OYO establishments through TM's loyalty programme, TM Rewards. Besides that, both companies worked together in marketing initiatives, which included promoting OYO Hotels and Homes to 24,000 TM staff nationwide.

Shanti was appointed as Telekom Malaysia's CMO last year. Together with the leadership bench, helps to navigate TM as the company continues on its transformation journey and next phase of growth. She was previously with Celcom Axiata for a year, last helming the role of chief customer experience and digital. In that role, she oversaw CX and digital business growth. She also helmed the roles of head of 5G and chief customer service and experience.
