For the second year running, TBWA\\Group Singapore swept the awards and took home top honours at Marketing's annual Agency of the Year Awards on 16 May at Shangri-La Hotel Singapore. The agency's team members stood proud after winning in six out of the seven categories it made the shortlist for, bagging gold in the Brand Consultancy, Creative, Digital and Full Service Agency of the Year categories, and silver in the Content Marketing and Integrated Marketing Agency of the Year categories.

The team was lauded by judges for showcasing "innovation at its best" in its entries, having produced excellent creative work that addressed key insights and messages.

These are the second consecutive wins in the Brand Consultancy and Integrated Marketing categories, and the fourth consecutive win in the Digital Agency of the Year category, having won silver in both 2016 and 2017, and gold in 2018.

"TBWA\\Group Singapore's win is a testament to not only its great work over the past year, but also its consistency and its drive to keep pushing the boundaries of what it can offer their clients. We are so happy for CEO Ara Hampartsoumian and his team. They truly deserve it," Rezwana Manjur, regional editor, Marketing magazine, said.

Coming in second and also cementing its place as the top performing local agency throughout 2018 was Happy Marketer, which brought home the first-ever Overall Local Hero of the Year trophy. The agency, which will no longer qualify for this award after its acquisition by Dentsu Aegis Network earlier this year in February 2019, brought home seven Local Hero trophies at the gala dinner. It won gold in the CRM & Loyalty Marketing and Search Marketing Agency of the Year categories, silver in the B2B and Digital Agency of the Year categories, and bronze in the Content Marketing, Programmatic and Specialist Agency of the Year categories.

This year saw a record 34 senior client marketers hailing from brands such as A&W, Aesop, American Express, Citi, Cycle & Carriage, Huawei, IKEA, and Shell, just to name a few, take part in the two-stage judging process. Judges independently reviewed and scored every entry to confirm the shortlist, before meeting together to discuss and debate the finalists’ entries and decipher the winners.

Three new categories were also introduced this year - Experiential Marketing Agency of the Year, Full Service Agency of the Year and Independent Agency of the Year - all of which were incredibly well-received, displaying the marriage of creativity and tech.

Marketing is proud to have partnered with gold sponsor Rakuten Insight, to have presented the Market Research Agency of the Year category, which saw Kadence International triumphantly bringing home gold after winning bronze in the category for two consecutive years. The agency demonstrated having a comprehensive list of products and research solutions, with a strategy that judges commented was "very relevant and on point".

The event would not have been possible without gold sponsor Rakuten Insight, event sponsor SingPost Advertising Solutions, official beer partner Peroni, official wine partner Crystal Wines, and official photography partner LiveStudios.

The Marketing team sends its heartiest congratulations to all winners across the nineteen categories, and we look forward to seeing all of you once again at next year’s Agency of the Year Awards.
