Dentsu Thailand has appointed Publicis Thailand's head of creative, Subun Khow, as its chief creative officer. Khow (pictured) returns to the agency after his role as chief creative officer at dentsu One Bangkok in 2012. During his time there, he was responsible for building a creative reputation and enhancing creative thinking to expand client portfolios. In his new role, Khow will be in charge of leading the creative team to deliver integrated creative excellence to clients, while leveraging data-driven and tech-enabled solutions combined with an idea-led approach. Khow reports to dentsu Thailand's CEO of creative, Narong Tresuchon, effective from 1 April 2022.

According to dentsu Thailand, Khow is recognised as one of the country's prominent creatives, bringing with him almost 30 years of experience in the advertising and branding industry. Prior to joining dentsu Thailand, Khow helmed the head of creative position at Publicis Thailand. Previously in 2012, Khow was dentsu One Bangkok chief creative officer where he was responsible for building creative reputation and enhancing creative thinking to expand client portfolios.

Speaking about his appointment,  Khow said that he was thrilled and humbled to be given the opportunity to work an amazing bunch of creatives at one of the world's leading agencies. As chief creative officer, Khow added his top priority is to cultivate a dynamic creative work culture as well as the delivery of the best business outcome for the agency's clients. "I look forward to working closely with Tresuchon and the rest of the talented creatives at dentsu Thailand to bring this to life," he explained.

"With Khow's strong track record and expertise, he will lead the creative team in creating innovative work and experience for clients with an emphasis on creative design to connect all channels seamlessly to reach audiences at every touchpoint in line with consumer needs and behaviors," said Tresuchon.

He is also confident in Khow's management ability to balance corporate values with creative energy and positivity to create an effective creative work culture. "Only by empowering people and strengthening creative business strategies can we then achieve significant progress and become the world's leading integrated communications business service network of the future," he explained.

Similarly, dentsu's CEO for Thailand, Vietnam and Myanmar, Sanjay Bhasin also agreed to the merits of Khow's appointment. Bhasin described Khow as a well-established creative leader who has a thorough understanding of the advertising industry.

"He is a role model for our new generation of creatives and brings with him a positive mindset and attitude, motivating them to always strive for best-in-class and infinite quality work, keeping in line with our ambition of advancing dentsu Thailand and our clients' businesses towards sustainable success. I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with him again and I am confident that together with Narong, the duo will be able to take dentsu Thailand’s creative to the next level," he explained.

Aside from Khow, dentsu has been making a slew of appointments and promotions in Southeast Asia. Last week, the agency appointed Mark Gabriel Chaves as head of media, dentsu Philippines. In his role, Chaves is responsible for driving synergies for dentsu Philippines’ media brands and working closely with the heads of iProspect, dentsu X, and Carat brands to ensure a unified representation of dentsu’s media capabilities in the industry.

Meanwhile in Indonesia, dentsu appointed Aloysia Dian Anggraeni as CEO of media service line and Laode Hartanto its first chief growth officer last week. Anggraeni's appointment has started, while Hartanto will commence on 1 April. Both will join dentsu Indonesia's executive team reporting directly to CEO Prakash Kamdar. The appointments are a continuation of dentsu's momentum in the market including Kamdar's appointment as CEO earlier this year, as well as the recent promotions of Wisnu Satya Putra (CEO, creative) and Arshad Rahman (CEO, customer experience management/CXM), and major client wins across sectors including eCommerce, FMCG, and banking.

In Singapore, dentsu bolstered its team with the appointment of Preeti Mascarenhas as chief strategy officer in January this year. At the same time, the agency also promoted Florian Lacombe to head of operations and Prema Techinamurthi to MD of the creative group. As chief strategy officer, Mascarenhas will lead strategy for key integrated clients and pitches, and solutions development. She was formerly head of strategy at Mindshare, based in Mumbai, India; according to her LinkedIn. Meanwhile, Lacombe, formerly head of activation, media group, will oversee the market’s business transformation journey and lead operational excellence for Singapore.
