StarHub launches media pitch

StarHub is on the hunt for a media agency. Marketing understands that the length of the appointment is approximately two years. Along with incumbent Carat, StarHub has also reached out to other media agencies for the review. Carat was last appointed in May 2016, after the telco parted ways with Mindshare after seven years.

In a statement to Marketing, StarHub said it is running a media pitch to appoint the best media agency partner as it continues on business transformation. “We have invited our current media agency partner Carat to pitch,” the statement confirmed.

Most recently, the telco saw the departure of its VP brand and marketing communications Mei Cheong. Meanwhile, leading its consumer business group is  currently Johan Buse. Buse is responsible for the development, marketing and delivery of consumer-market mobile. This also includes fixed products, services and pay TV.

Bringing with him 19 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, he has worked across Asia, Europe and Middle East. He was previously Ooredoo’s chief commercial officer, where he was responsible for marketing, sales and customer experience for mobile, fixed and new businesses.

Meanwhile, last year, StarHub also shifted its creative account from DDB Singapore after 12 years to BLK J. This came months after working with BLK J on several campaigns.
