Star Media Group's Christine Chang has left her group marketing officer role six months after joining in December 2019. In a statement to A+M, Chang said she is currently exploring new opportunities. A+M has reached out to Star Media Group for comment on Chang's replacement.

Chang is a well-known figure in Malaysia's ad industry and helmed the role of GM at Havas Media prior to her departure last December. She was also Edelman Malaysia's digital director for about a year, as well as the group account director at Leo Burnett. During her time there, she managed the McDonald's Malaysia account, her LinkedIn said. She also worked as a senior account director at Y&R for more than seven years, managing brands such as Astro, OCBC, NEC and Cerebos.

Last month, Andreas Vogiatzakis resigned from his role as CEO of Star Media Group after taking on the position last August. He joined the media conglomerate from Havas Media Malaysia where he served as CEO for three years. He also served as CEO of OMD Malaysia for close to 10 years. Shortly after, a temporary special committee comprising three non-executive directors of the company - Fu Ah Kiow, Mohd Aminuddin Bin Mohd Rouse and Chan Seng Fatt - was formed to oversee the operations of the company until a new candidate is identified.
