Social media analytics firm SocialBakers has acquired EdgeRank Checker, a provider of social analytics for Facebook’s News Feed.
Socialbakers will be absorbing EdgeRank Checker’s entire client portfolio, made up of over 700 Fortune 500 companies and major entertainment brands, bolstering Socialbakers’ domestic presence and growing its client base by nearly a third, said the company in a release. The cost of the acquisition was not revealed.
This follows Socialbakers’ recent announcement of a US$26 million in funding from Index Ventures for product development and international expansion.
“The acquisition of EdgeRank Checker reinforces our position as the global standard for social media measurement and optimization, as well as our vision of providing smarter social analytics to brands,” said Jan Rezab (pictured), CEO of Socialbakers.
“Socialbakers is focused on two missions right now, cementing our U.S. footprint and providing brands with entirely new levels of social media insight. Acquiring EdgeRank Checker allows us to do this in one stroke,” added Rezab.
EdgeRank Checker provides social marketers with insights into Facebook’s News Feed, optimizing a brand’s news feed engagement by measuring content performance over time, industry and location. The company’s product features include: EdgeRank Over Time, News Feed Recommendations, Industry Reports, Best/Worst Comparison, Post Grades and Agency Dashboard.
Socialbakers will now be able to provide access to full Facebook analytics and social analytics across all platforms, as well as deeper insights into Facebook News Feed performance for brands, a critical part of every social marketing strategy.
EdgeRank Checker will also provide a domestic development team to complement Socialbakers’ internaonal development offices in Europe.
