Singapore turned 61, and these brands brought the nation to life

National Day may be over, but Singapore's brands have left plenty of creative footprints across the celebrations.

This year, brands leaned into everything from local food and familiar cultural quirks to nostalgia, community and the little things that make Singapore feel like home. Some made us laugh, others tugged at the heartstrings, while a few gave familiar Singaporean experiences a clever new spin.

As Singapore marked its 61st birthday, MARKETING-INTERACTIVE has rounded up some of the National Day campaigns that caught our eye this year. From the heartwarming to the downright playful, here are our favourites.

1. 7-Eleven

7-Eleven Singapore gave familiar local rituals a plush makeover for SG61, tapping into the nostalgia of kopi runs, takeaway drinks and neighbourhood mama shops. Created in partnership with Play Nation, the National Day collection reimagines everyday Singaporean icons as playful accessories and collectibles.

Among the releases are "Dabao! drinks" plush drawstring crossbody bags, turning classic local beverages into wearable companions across four blind-box designs. The collection also features "Kopi & toast" plush keyring blind boxes, serving up a pocket-sized dose of Singapore nostalgia.

2. Coca-Cola x Kopitiam

Kopitiam teamed up with Coca-Cola to shrink a slice of Singapore's coffee shop culture into a limited-edition mini brick collectible series, tapping into nostalgia and the familiar sights of the neighbourhood kopitiam. Launched on 1 August, the collaboration marks the first time the two brands have joined forces on a physical collectible.

The collection features three buildable designs inspired by everyday coffee shop experiences. These include Kopitiam favourites alongside Coca-Cola's signature glass bottle and can, a traditional kopitiam shophouse reminiscent of the spaces generations have gathered in, and a mystery "Kopi kiosk" design that is only revealed upon redemption.

3. Klook

Klook marked National Day with a campaign that turns local experiences into an opportunity to give back. Titled "Make a memory, gift a memory", the month-long initiative sees the travel and experiences platform partner with ItsRainingRaincoats to help migrant workers explore more of Singapore.

Throughout August, for every selected SG Culture Pass-eligible experience booked on Klook using Culture Pass credits, Klook will sponsor a matching experience for a migrant worker through ItsRainingRaincoats. Experiences range from Chinese seal engraving and paper cutting to perfume workshops, tea experiences and visits to attractions such as Madame Tussauds Singapore and the Singapore River Cruise.

4. SingPost

Singapore Post (SingPost) looked to the nation's past for its 61st National Day, reimagining Singapore's first independence anniversary stamps more than six decades after their original release. Launched on 7 August, the commemorative collection updates the artwork from the stamps first issued on 9 August 1966 to reflect Singapore's transformation over the years.

Adding another layer of history to the collection, the original 1966 stamps remain the only Singapore stamps to feature the country's full formal name, "Republic of Singapore", according to SingPost. All subsequent issues have simply carried "Singapore", making the reimagined collection a nostalgic nod to a distinctive piece of the country's philatelic history.

5. Singtel

Singtel used National Day to look back at Singapore's transformation while casting an eye towards its AI-powered future. Titled "Beyond connection", its 2026 National Day film traces the country's journey from independence in 1965 to its ambitions of becoming a smart nation and regional AI hub, alongside Singtel's own evolution from a telecommunications provider to a digital infrastructure and services group.

The campaign spotlights Singtel's investments in subsea cables, satellite communications, advanced mobile networks and AI-ready data centres, positioning the infrastructure as part of the digital backbone supporting Singapore's next chapter of growth. Through the film, Singtel reinforces its role in the country's digital transformation while highlighting how connectivity has evolved alongside the nation.

6. StarHub

StarHub turned up the volume on the sounds of Singapore this National Day with "Sounds of home", an original music project created in partnership with Bandwagon. Part of its ongoing "The power of pause" digital wellbeing initiative, the campaign encourages Singaporeans to step away from their screens, tune into their surroundings and reconnect with the everyday moments that make the island feel like home.

Produced by local artist, producer and composer Fauxe, the track weaves together authentic sounds recorded across Singapore, from bustling hawker centres and neighbourhood playgrounds to MRT stations and snippets of everyday conversations. It also brings together homegrown artists Rene, Krysta Joy, YAØ and Akeem Jahat, turning the familiar soundtrack of daily life into a musical celebration of Singapore.

Tiger Beer took its National Day celebrations across the island with a series of experiential activations spanning iconic landmarks, riverside venues and heartland communities. Anchored by its "Born in Singapore. Chosen worldwide." campaign, the homegrown brand transformed locations into celebration hubs, from a waterfront gathering at Kampong Bugis to experiences aboard the Singapore Flyer and bumboat cruises.

Putting shared experiences at the heart of the campaign, Tiger Beer brought Singaporeans together through community events, live entertainment and local collaborations. The activations also served as a nod to the brand's Singapore roots while celebrating how far it has travelled since being born on the island.
