Can a mini brick set capture the magic of kopitiam culture?

Kopitiam is bringing Singapore's coffee shop culture to life in miniature through a new collaboration with Coca-Cola, launching a limited-edition mini brick collectible series from 1 August.
The "Kopitiam x Coca-Cola mini bricks collectible set" marks the first time the two brands have partnered on a physical collectible, tapping into nostalgia and Singapore's enduring kopitiam culture through a series of buildable miniature scenes.
The collection features three designs inspired by familiar coffee shop experiences. One showcases Kopitiam favourites alongside Coca-Cola's signature glass bottle and can packaging, while another recreates a traditional kopitiam shophouse where generations of Singaporeans have gathered for meals and conversations. The third design, a mystery "Kopi kiosk", will only be revealed upon redemption.

For Kopitiam, the campaign is about turning an everyday meal into something more memorable while giving customers another reason to visit its outlets.
In conversation with MARKETING-INTERACTIVE, Andrew Tan, head of customer and marketing, food services, said limited-edition collectibles allow the brand to create experiences that customers can anticipate, collect and share. Beyond offering value and convenience, the initiative aims to encourage repeat visits, spark conversations and give diners an exclusive keepsake that captures memories of dining at Kopitiam.
The partnership with Coca-Cola was a natural fit, Tan added, as both brands have long been part of Singaporeans' everyday dining occasions and appeal to multiple generations of consumers.

By combining Kopitiam's familiarity with Coca-Cola's iconic brand assets, the pair sought to create a collectible that feels both authentic and relevant, while celebrating the role the two brands have played in bringing people together over shared meals.
The collectible sets will be available exclusively at eight participating Kopitiam outlets across Singapore, with just 160 complete sets produced. Each outlet will receive 20 sets, with no plans for restocks once they have been fully redeemed.
Consumers can collect the mini bricks through two redemption mechanics. Shoppers who purchase a can of Coca-Cola original taste or Coca-Cola zero sugar will receive one stamp, with eight stamps required to redeem a blind box containing one randomly selected design.
Alternatively, customers who purchase a carton of 24 cans of Coca-Cola original taste or Coca-Cola zero sugar for SG$38.80 will receive a guaranteed complete set containing all three designs, including the mystery collectible.
The promotion will run while stocks last at participating Kopitiam outlets in AMK Hub, Hillion Mall, JEM, Parkway Parade, Plaza Singapura, Tampines Mall, VivoCity and Bagus Northpoint City.
While redemption numbers will be one measure of success, Tan said Kopitiam will also be looking at the level of customer excitement generated by the campaign, including feedback from diners, conversations at its outlets and engagement on social media.
He added that the collaboration reflects a broader shift in consumer expectations, with diners increasingly seeking memorable and shareable experiences rather than traditional promotions alone.
Going forward, Kopitiam intends to continue partnering with like-minded brands on initiatives that strengthen customer engagement, build loyalty and keep the brand relevant to both long-time patrons and younger generations.

"Kopitiam outlets have long been gathering places where generations of Singaporeans come together over good food, familiar flavours and meaningful conversations. At its heart, Kopitiam is dedicated to making every day a little better for the community we serve," said Tan.
He added, "Through this collaboration with Coca-Cola, a brand that has been part of many Singaporeans’ dining experiences over the decades, we wanted to recreate these cherished moments in a playful format, allowing Singaporeans to bring a piece of their daily ritual home.”
The launch builds on Coca-Cola's recent efforts to deepen its connection with Singapore's dining culture through locally inspired brand activations. Earlier this year, the beverage giant unveiled Coca-Cola Chopsticks, a pair of food-grade stainless steel chopsticks modelled after its iconic contour bottle silhouette.
The collectible, which debuted at GastroBeats 2026, marked the first global launch of the concept and was designed to strengthen Coca-Cola's association with mealtime occasions across Asia. Speaking to MARKETING-INTERACTIVE at the time, Chrystian Lim, marketing director for Singapore, Malaysia and Myanmar at The Coca-Cola Company, said the initiative was inspired by the role food plays in bringing people together across the region.
