What does home sound like? StarHub has an answer

StarHub is marking Singapore's National Day with an original music project created in partnership with Bandwagon, transforming familiar everyday sounds from across the island into a soundtrack celebrating what it means to call Singapore home.
Titled "Sounds of home", the campaign forms part of StarHub's ongoing "The power of pause" digital wellbeing initiative, which encourages Singaporeans to build a healthier relationship with technology by being more present in their daily lives.
Produced by local artist, producer and composer Fauxe, the track is built using authentic sounds recorded across Singapore, including bustling hawker centres, neighbourhood playgrounds, MRT stations and snippets of everyday conversations. The soundtrack also features homegrown artists Rene, Krysta Joy, YAØ and Akeem Jahat.

Accompanying the release is a music video that pairs the audio with scenes inspired by everyday life in Singapore, highlighting the people, places and shared experiences that define home.
According to StarHub, the project aims to encourage Singaporeans to put down their devices and reconnect with the moments around them, while offering a different way to celebrate the nation's 61st birthday through sounds that are often taken for granted.
"Sounds of home" premiered on 30 July via StarHub's LinkedIn page and Bandwagon's social channels. The soundtrack is also available on Spotify, Apple Music and other major streaming platforms.
"National Day is a time to reflect on what brings us together as Singaporeans. While we often celebrate the big moments, it's the everyday sounds around us, from familiar voices and neighbourhoods to shared experiences, that remind us what home feels like," said Lin Liangmin, head of brand and communications, StarHub.
She added, "Through 'Sounds of home', we hope to encourage Singaporeans to pause, listen a little more closely, and reconnect with the moments that matter most."
In tandem, Clarence Chan, founder and CEO, Bandwagon, said, "At Bandwagon, we’ve spent years championing Singapore’s music scene, so we’re always thinking about how sound can tell stories and create meaningful connections. Working closely with StarHub, we saw the potential in the everyday sounds we often take for granted, yet instinctively associate with home, and set out to reimagine them as an original piece of music."
"Every rhythm, bassline and melody is crafted from the sounds of Singapore. We hope people have fun spotting the familiar sounds woven into the song, while being reminded that, much like music, it’s the many small moments of connection that come together to make Singapore feel like home," he added.
The campaign builds on StarHub's broader push to promote healthier digital habits. Earlier this month, the telco launched the latest chapter of its "The power of pause" initiative, encouraging Singaporeans to rethink their relationship with technology.
The campaign followed research commissioned by StarHub and conducted by YouGov, which found that 70% of people in Singapore use screens to escape daily pressures, while more than 80% said prolonged screen time leaves them feeling mentally drained. Building on last year's campaign addressing excessive screen time, the latest initiative shifts the focus towards understanding why people turn to their devices and making more intentional decisions about when to stay connected and when to disconnect.
