Satrya Pinandita, former Grab Indonesia's country manager of public relations and corporate communications has joined Shopee Indonesia as its head of public relations for the corporate affairs department. During his time at Grab, which was approximately two years, he was responsible for building and executing the platform's corporate communications strategy. Additionally, he was also in charge of Grab's social impact programmes which includes MSMEs and gig-worker empowerment, said his LinkedIn.

With more than eight years of PR and communications experience under his belt, Satrya (pictured) started his career at PR consulting firm for Zeno Indonesia as a senior consultant, handling clients from the leisure and technology scene such as Dubai Tourism, Tourism New Zealand, Mariott International, Alibaba and Motorola. His last role at Zeno Indonesia was as its senior consultant manager for a year. According to his LinkedIn, Satrya was also Microsoft Indonesia's interim communications lead for seven months. During his time there, he managed the external communication function with the media, customers and partners. He also worked closely with the marketing and operations team to communicate the company's digital transformation journey to key media and partners.

MARKETING-INTERACTIVE has reached out to Shopee Indonesia for additional information regarding Satrya's role.

Also on the leadership front, Shopee Singapore has posted job openings in for its food delivery arm, ShopeeFood on 16 November 2021. According to the platform's career portal, it is looking for a UI/UX designer, as well as members to join its product management team. However, ShopeeFood currently does not operate in Singapore, alluding that the food delivery service has earmarked the market as its next destination.  However, ShopeeFood may be just setting the bases for its expansion into Singapore, given that there are only two openings available for the market so far.

Meanwhile, on 11 November, Shopee Malaysia thought out of the box and created a 3D optical illusion page print ad on the cover page of The Star and The Sun featuring actor Jackie Chan for its 11.11 activation. Shopee's creative lead, Aaron Wong, said in a LinkedIn post that the company was determined to create a print ad that creates an impact visually that justifies the size of the 11.11 mega campaign. Wong added that the concept of having a 3D optical illusion page print ad was rarely seen on a newspaper medium.
