Shake Shack honours local craftsmanship with Man Fung Food mochi collaboration

Shake Shack has collaborated with Hong Kong artisanal mochi maker Man Fung Food (民豐粉麵行) to unveil its new Pistachio Mochi Shake, a menu iteration designed to spotlight local neighbourhood culinary craftsmanship and regional flavour profiles.
Established in 1955, Man Fung Food is a longstanding culinary staple within the Tsuen Wan community, widely recognised for its handmade, chewy rice mochi produce rooted in decades of traditional production techniques.
Available across all Hong Kong and Macau Shake Shack stores from 15 September to 30 November, the Pistachio Mochi Shake combines the brand's signature vanilla frozen custard with freshly in-house made soft mochi. It is topped with whipped cream and a liberal dusting of Man Fung Food's house-roasted pistachio powder for a rich, nutty finish.
The collaboration forms part of Shake Shack's ongoing brand positioning centred on its "stand for something good" ethos, curating experiential menu offerings that integrate local heritage and community food culture for regional consumers.
Complementing the collaborative launch, the brand has rolled out its seasonal French Bistro Menu for autumn, reinterpreting classic French flavours with a contemporary American culinary twist.
The menu incorporates premium ingredients and the rich, velvety notes of traditional Béarnaise sauce, forming a refined seasonal menu extension for its regional market lineup.
"Pistachio has been one of our fan favourites, and we wanted to bring a fresh twist to this beloved offering through a collaboration that feels uniquely local. Man Fung Food has been a cherished part of Hong Kong's food culture since 1955, renowned for its dedication to quality craftsmanship," said Olivia Leung, marketing lead of Shake Shack Hong Kong & Macau.
"Together, we are delivering a partnership which reflects our commitment to 'stand for something good', celebrating local flavours, heritage, and the communities we proudly serve," added Leung.
Shake Shack has increasingly turned to homegrown Hong Kong brands to keep its menu locally relevant. In one recent example, the burger chain teamed up with Hong Kong-based sauce brand Flagrant to launch a limited-edition yuzu hot wings offering, bringing a local twist to its classic menu.
Another notable collaboration saw Shake Shack join hands with Regent Hong Kong for a world-exclusive tie-up that ran from 12 November to 12 December last year at The Lobby Lounge.
