Madame Tussauds Singapore has teamed up with Indian online travel company MakeMyTrip for a Deepavali activation celebrating some of Indian cinema’s biggest stars.

Titled "Icons of India", the limited-time experience brings together wax figures of Indian actors including Deepika Padukone, Varun Dhawan, Shah Rukh Khan and Ranveer Singh, as the two brands look to tap into the festive travel period and the global appeal of Indian cinema.

As part of the partnership, MakeMyTrip is promoting the Madame Tussauds Singapore experience to Indian travellers, with a ticket offer available for bookings made between 21 October and 15 November 2026.

The collaboration comes as the brands look to position the attraction as part of the wider travel experience for Indians visiting Singapore during the festive season. According to MakeMyTrip, travellers are increasingly looking beyond sightseeing towards experiences that can become a more memorable part of their trips.

The activation also spotlights a newly unveiled wax figure of Padukone at Madame Tussauds Singapore. The figure sees the actress dressed in a red floor-length gown and joins the attraction's wider collection of Indian cinema personalities.

"Deepavali is an important celebration of Indian culture, bringing people together through the shared spirit of light, joy and togetherness," said Wade Chang, general manager of Madame Tussauds Singapore.

"Through the 'Icons of India' campaign, we're excited to bring guests closer to the most iconic stars and create memorable experiences. The partnership with MakeMyTrip is a wonderful opportunity to share the magic of Indian cinema with even more audiences in Singapore," he added.

Meanwhile, Jasmeet Singh, chief business officer – holidays and experiences at MakeMyTrip, said travellers today want to do more than simply visit a destination and are increasingly seeking experiences that make their trips memorable.

"Our association with Madame Tussauds Singapore brings a much-loved attraction closer to Indian travellers, bookable on MakeMyTrip as easily as a hotel or a flight," said Singh.

"With many Indians travelling abroad over the festive season, 'Icons of India' gives travellers heading to Singapore one more reason to plan their trip around Deepavali," he added.

The partnership also joins other brands and organisations tapping into Deepavali to connect with audiences through culture and shared experiences. Last month, gov.sg teamed up with integrated marketing agency DSTNCT on a Deepavali film encouraging Singaporeans to put down their screens and be more present with their loved ones.

Titled "Family assemble!", the Tamil-language film follows Parameshwari Paatti as she challenges her screen-absorbed family to spend the festive period without their devices. Directed by S.S. Vikneshwaran, founder of Cosmic Ultima Pictures, the film uses family chaos and comedy, drawing on heist films and superhero team-ups before landing on a message about cherishing time together.
