Sevina Park lets plants 'escape the city' in latest GIGIL campaign

Arthaland’s Sevina Park has teamed up with Filipino creative agency GIGIL for “Escape the city”, a new campaign that uses a cast of house plants to highlight the residential development’s promise of more space and breathable surroundings.
Set against the realities of life in Manila, the campaign follows a house plant that decides it has had enough of the city. A Monstera is first seen making its way out, before being joined by other plants, including rosemary and a money tree, as they embark on a journey to Sevina Park.
Rather than centring the campaign on human characters, GIGIL uses the plants to dramatise the desire for a less congested way of living.

The campaign positions Sevina Park as an alternative for residents who want to remain connected to modern conveniences while gaining access to more open spaces. The development is part of Arthaland’s wider proposition around creating thoughtfully planned communities with an emphasis on liveability.
The creative execution also involved a production approach designed to make the plants feel like characters in their own right.
According to the campaign team, real-life plants were used as puppets, with their leaves, stems and natural movements providing the basis for their personalities and performances. Visual effects were then used to enhance their movements and bring the plant characters to life.
The result is a playful interpretation of the campaign's central idea: rather than waiting for people to seek out a more spacious environment, the plants themselves make the first move.
For GIGIL, the unusual protagonists also provide a way to communicate Sevina Park’s positioning without relying on a conventional residential advertising narrative.
The campaign was developed by GIGIL's creative team, led by founding partners Badong Abesamis and Herbert Hernandez, with creative direction from Jillian Librodo and Conrad Javier. The production was handled by Wendy Rivera, with Makina directing through Borgy Torre.
The campaign's production team included director of photography Carlos Mauricio, while post-production was handled by Jaye Jacinto, Lester Brutas and Patrick Beltran. Audio was produced by Loudbox Studios, with sound engineering by Nioki Aquino and music scoring by Jeff Arcillia.
