SafetyCulture has brought in the team behind Sydney-based AI startup Twine as it looks to accelerate its push into agentic AI.
The move sees Twine founder Brian Swift return to the business as VP, AI, alongside Chris Manouvrier and Bec Lourey, strengthening SafetyCulture’s product and engineering capability.
Swift previously served as VP of product at SafetyCulture before moving to Dovetail and later co-founding Twine.
The acquisition brings in a team with experience building AI products designed to turn complex data into usable insights, capability SafetyCulture plans to integrate directly into its platform.
Founder and CEO Luke Anear said the move reflects the company’s shift toward an agentic-first model.
“From the minute I wake up until I go to sleep, I'm working on how we move to an agentic-first experience,” he said.
“Brian knows our customers and the problems we're solving, and that he can now have a bigger impact than ever before.”
Swift said the decision to return was driven by the company’s mission and the opportunity to apply AI in practical ways.
“SafetyCulture has always been built around the people out in the world doing the real work,” he said.
“There’s a real opportunity here to build AI capabilities that make a genuine difference for them.”
SafetyCulture, which is used by more than 85,000 organisations globally, is increasingly positioning AI as a core part of its platform as enterprise demand for automation and decision support tools grows.
