Publicis Groupe MY's Andrew Leong steps down as growth officer of media

Publicis One Malaysia's Andrew Leong (pictured) has left his role as growth officer of media, close to two years after he was promoted to the role.Leong confirmed his departure to A+M, adding that "it has been gratifying to have led Publicis Media in Malaysia for the past two years". "It is time for me to recalibrate my career trajectory over the next few months," he added.Tan Kien Eng, CEO of Publicis Groupe Malaysia, said Leong has done an amazing job in building a business that has renowned brands as part of its clientele."He has been instrumental in building a superb team and growing the media businesses in a challenging environment. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours," Tan added. A+M has reached out to Publicis Groupe for additional information on Leong's replacement.Before his promotion, Leong was the managing partner for Arc Worldwide, overseeing the media agency brands including Starcom, Blue 449, Spark Foundry and Performics under Publicis One umbrella in Malaysia. Prior to that, he was head of strategic resources, Greater China at Zenith and head of brand and engagement planning at McCann Worldgroup Singapore. Leong also worked at DDB and BBDO.Last year, Zenith Malaysia ended its arrangement as a franchise solution under Publicis Groupe operation, rebranding into Invictus Blue and retaining the same company number, staff and clients. Headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, the agency was created to rethink and reconfigure the way agencies operate.Meanwhile earlier this year, Publicis Media named Lorraine Capel head of client investment, reporting to Leong. She left Carat late last year after helming the role of CEO for two years.
