Publicis Groupe China has appointed three veterans to join its Beijing office, hoping to strengthen its integration capabilities, enhance creative output and accelerate digital transformation.

Ng Tian It (pictured left) has been appointed as chief creative officer of Publicis Communications Beijing. In this position, he will reinforce the creative team, enhance creative effectiveness, improve creative strength, and elevate its position in the industry. According to the agency, Ng boasts nearly 30 years of extensive creative experience and deep knowledge in the advertising industry as he was creative director of Saatchi & Saatchi and Leo Burnett before. He served as chief creative officer of Saatchi & Saatchi Beijing from 2012 to 2015.

Ng also served as executive creative director of Publicis Groupe Singapore from 2019 to the end of 2021. He worked with a wide variety of clients, including McDonald's, Unilever, Mars Foods, Procter & Gamble, Nestlé, Qualcomm, IKEA, Mercedes-Benz, Singapore Airlines, and Citibank, to name a few.

“I’m always in awe of the sublime beauty in tandem, such as how the most enduring creativity would come from reaching for the stars and staying grounded at the same time, and how breakthroughs can be achieved with a healthy blend of wisdom and curiosity. (I will) continue doing all these under the 'Power of One' - the epitome of perfection in tandem," he said.

In addition to Ng's appointment, the group has also appointed James Yang (pictured right) as managing director of Digitas Beijing. In his new position, he will explore and manage the full-cycle ecosystem through end-to-end consumer experience management solutions, improve return on investment, and effectively drive clients’ business growth. At the same time, he will continue to run Nestlé's consumer experience management business and expand the solution to more clients.

Yang's expertise includes research on and consulting services for brand positioning, brand structure, brand management, consumer insight, innovation strategy and consumer experience for many years.

The group added that Digitas Beijing's origin team comes from Publicis One Nestlé team. In the past years, together with the client, the team kept renovating and innovating, transforming Nestlé Infant Nutrition from a typical CRM programme to a business solution platform, which not only enhances the consumer experience through data and marketing automation, but also supports the business by unifying and digitising channel management.

“The origin team is thrilled to join Digitas. It will allow us to embrace more innovative thinking from the network around the world, focus on helping the client’s digital transformation supported by Data, UX, Technology and Creative, and explore more inspiring opportunities in the digital era and make more transformations together with future partners," Yang said.

Moreover, the group has appointed Sure Liu (pictured middle) as chief integration officer of Publicis Communications Beijing and head of Nestlé business. Liu will help Publicis Communications Beijing enhance and integrate the delivery capabilities of social communication, content studio mode, new eCommerce platform and experiential marketing in the platform world, matching the transformation needs of major clients including Nestlé, P&G, Unilever, FAW-Volkswagen, Audi, and Mercedes-Benz.

“I am very happy to join Publicis Groupe, and Nestlé is one of the core businesses. The two are partners in global marketing innovation. I hope to gain a deeper understanding of the business needs and help create more value for clients through the ‘Power of One' model," he said.

Ng, Liu and Yang are all based in Beijing, and report directly to Oliver Xu, president of Publicis Groupe North China. Xu said, "From the launch of Publicis Marketing Consulting practice last year to the establishment of Digitas Beijing office this year, we are constantly trying to develop new business while increasing creative strength. Their diligent pursuits of creative and digital breakthroughs, together with a deep understanding of the local market, will surely unleash the brand potential in the new platform world.”

Arto Hampartsoumian, managing partner and executive chairman of Publicis Groupe China added, “Publicis Communications Beijing continues to evolve its capabilities by offering our clients more comprehensive marketing solutions with a suite of innovative products integrating media, data, technology and creativity. I am confident with our new structure and leadership in place we will better support our clients’ businesses by offering a more sustainable and digitally-led ecosystem of services.”
