Pizza Hut Indonesia hands Ogilvy integrated marketing duties

Pizza Hut has named appointed Ogilvy Indonesia to manage integrated marketing duties covering integrated above-the-line and digital (including social), following a multi-agency pitch. Ogilvy will manage strategic communications efforts across both the restaurant and delivery business. Work will be rolled out in early 2021.

Steven Christopher Lee, CEO, Pizza Hut Indonesia, said it has experienced the strength of the partnership with Ogilvy globally, and the company believes Ogilvy Indonesia is a valuable local partner for Pizza Hut Indonesia which will help Pizza Hut achieve even greater success. "Through this partnership, we hope to further our market leadership in the country," Lee added.

Meanwhile, Group CEO of Ogilvy Indonesia, B. Ramanathan, said the team is honoured to have been selected as a key growth partner by Pizza Hut Indonesia. "We look forward to bringing the best of Ogilvy’s modern marketing solutions into supporting the next phase of growth for Pizza Hut’s restaurant and delivery business," he said. Last year, the company partnered Xaxis and MediaCom to consolidate its online and offline consumer data. This was in a bid to compete in the oversaturated QSR landscape and ensure its marketing efforts reached only the most relevant audience with the most relevant creatives to drive outcomes.

Separately, Pizza Hut shifted creative duties from Ogilvy to BLKJ in 2019, with the company being "particularly drawn" to BLKJ's good grasp of the category and the Pizza Hut brand. The decision to partner with BLKJ was made after a stringent evaluation process which involved key marketing and senior stakeholders. Meanwhile, the agency was appointed to manage creative duties in Hong Kong in 2018 as Pizza Hut sought to elevate its brand among Millennials, while maintaining its strong heritage in the family segment.
