PayPal is extending its partnership with Google to make it easy for consumers to use PayPal as a payment method in Android Pay. PayPal and Google have been forging a partnership since PayPal was added as a payment method within Google Play nearly three years ago.
This new partnership comes hot on the heels of PayPal’s partnerships with 11 other companies, such as Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and Citi. PayPal is also planning on expanding its relationship with Wells Fargo to soon enable joint customers to pay with their Wells Fargo credit or debit card for contactless payments in-store.
In PayPal’s official statement, CEO and EVP Bill Ready said, “We’re excited for this next phase of our relationship. With our combined reach and leadership in technology and mobile commerce, we can bring more choice and optionality to our joint customers.”
