PARKnSHOP engages shoppers with creative brain teasers

The PARKnSHOP supermarket chain has set up brain teasers across its stores to engage customers in-store, creating a fun and interactive shopping experience.

Titled “笑通佳,” the initiative features an array of brain teaser questions printed on cards placed on the shelves. Customers can guess the answers to these teasers and then flip the cards to check their responses.

Interestingly, some brain teaser questions are specifically designed for certain brands. For example, near the Lee Kum Kee sauce products, there's a brain teaser card that asks which of the characters - Chan, Lee, Cheung, Wong, and Ho - would have the courage to send a love letter. The answer is Lee, playing on the name Lee Kum Kee.

Meanwhile, another brain teaser card is placed near Vita’s paper bag beverage products, asking customers to guess a beverage brand suitable for celebrating a son's hundred-day banquet. The answer is Vita, as the Cantonese phrase 圍他 (which means surrounding him) sounds similar to the brand's Chinese name, 維他.

A check by MARKETING-INTERACTIVE saw on Threads that the initiative has sparked discussion and won praise on Threads. A number of netizens have shared different kinds of brain teasers they came across while shopping in PARKnSHOP, with some posts recording over 340,000 views. While some users said they haven't visited the supermarket in a long time and feel encouraged to shop there again, others said the product-related brain teasers are quite creative.

Recently, PARKnSHOP has launched a supermarket music concert initiative called “FOOD PARC Music Night” to connect with a younger audience. Scheduled to take place at FOOD PARC in Hopewell Mall, Wan Chai, from 8 to 10 August, the concert will feature local artists Arvin Tsang, sica, Ash, and Byejack, along with special snacks, Robatayaki, and selected drinks available at the venue.
