Outages by Telkomsel and Indihome get Indonesians showing their creative sides

Indonesia's state-owned telco Telkom appeared to be down on Tuesday morning, affecting both its mobile internet service, Telkomsel and home internet service, Indihome. The disruption of the largest data network in Indonesia affected a significant number of users, who took to social media to voice their frustrations.

According to outage detector Fing, the disruption affected about a quarter of the Indonesian population and at least 10 cities. It reportedly lasted for half an hour. Marketing has reached out to Telkom for more information.

While users were unable to access to most apps, some lucky few were able to rant on Twitter albeit through low connection speed. In a reply to one of them, a Telkomsel spokesperson apologised for the slow internet access, which was caused by a system upgrade.

While there were many who voiced out their frustrations with the service and the inconveniences caused, others just had a field day with memes. As you can see, they all felt like they were transported back to the caveman era.
